In recent times, the female athlete from Thanh Hoa has competed excellently and brought home many high achievements such as: winning the title of National Outstanding Athlete in 2024; winning the Gold Medal in the 10m mixed team pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championship (January 2024); 4th place in the 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics; ranked in the top 5 in the women's 10m air pistol event at the World Shooting Championship and officially received a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics... Trinh Thu Vinh is also the only professional athlete on this list.
The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award is an award from the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, to honor typical young people, under 35 years old, with outstanding achievements, creating a widespread influence in the community on their efforts, striving to rise up, and contributing to the community and the country.
Thereby, creating motivation to develop young talents and promoting emulation movements in studying, training, scientific research, working, creating... among youth and children; consolidating and developing the Youth Union, Association, and Team organizations while attracting the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society to the cause of educating and nurturing the young generation.
The award honors young people with outstanding achievements in 10 fields, including: Study, Scientific Research - Creativity, Labor and Production, Business - Startup, National Defense, Security and Order, Sports, Social Activities, Culture and Arts, and State Administrative Management.
In 2024, the Organizing Committee of the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award received 159 nominations from 55 units nationwide, including 3 self-nominated nominations. In terms of structure, there are 114 men, 45 women; 144 Kinh ethnic groups, 15 ethnic minorities; 3 Buddhists; 1 Catholic. The highest academic title is Associate Professor: 3; there are 21 PhDs; 4 Masters. The oldest nominee is 38 years old; the youngest is 13 years old. Of which, the field of Study has the most nominations (38 nominations); the field of State Administrative Management has the least nominations (1 nomination).
After the first meeting, the Council for the 2024 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award voted by software to select 19 most outstanding nominees for the online voting round. Of which, there are 3 fields where the Council selected 3 nominees each: Study, Scientific Research and Culture and Arts. There are 4 fields (National Defense; Security and Order; Sports; Social Activities) each with 2 nominees. There are 2 fields: Labor Production and Business - Startup, each with 1 nominee. Only the field of State Administrative Management has no nominations.
At the 2nd Council meeting, the council members continued to analyze, compare, contrast, and specifically and specifically consider each profile in detail, then conducted a secret ballot to select 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces of 2024 and 8 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces of 2024.
The Ceremony to honor Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces in 2024 is scheduled to take place on the evening of March 23 in Hanoi.
