Mr. Le Van Duc, Deputy Director of the Project Management and Land Fund Development Board (QLDA&PTQD) of Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province (investor) said: The project to upgrade and expand Pham Huu Lau street phase 2, the section from Cai Tom bridge to Thien Ho Duong roundabout in Ward 4 and Ward 6 of Cao Lanh city is currently constructing the second section of Cai Sau and Cai Tom bridges.

To ensure safety, relevant units have organized specific traffic diversions. During the construction process, the investor and contractor always have people on duty to guide people to travel conveniently and safely.
The traffic flow will be implemented from September 25, 2024, and is expected to end on March 13, 2025," Mr. Duc added.
The Pham Huu Lau Street upgrade and expansion project phase 2 has a total length of over 1.4km, with a total investment of over 100 billion VND. To date, the construction progress has reached 35%.
"The project started in January 2024 and is expected to be completed in March 2025. However, the investor and contractor are determined to open the technical traffic before Lunar New Year 2025, one month earlier," said Mr. Duc.
The contractor is striving to finish one month ahead of schedule.
According to the investor, the site clearance work has been basically completed so that the contractor can speed up. Therefore, taking advantage of all weather conditions, the contractor has organized workers to work from 7am to 10pm.
"The old road was 5m wide and allowed two-way traffic. After completion, the road will be 10.5m wide and become a dual carriageway. The project is very important in expanding the urban space of Cao Lanh city," Mr. Duc informed.
Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan (50 years old, residing in Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province) said that the upgrading of Pham Huu Lau street is highly anticipated by the people. Because after completion, the road will be wider, making travel more convenient.
Pham Huu Lau Street has a total length of about 2.5km. This is a vital route connecting the center of Cao Lanh city to other places. The upgrading and expansion aims to improve and develop the urban area. At the same time, it realizes the goal of making Cao Lanh city a key economic - cultural - social area of Dong Thap province and becoming a type I urban area by 2030.
