According to the proposal, the priority projects are to build the remaining technical infrastructure in Functional Area No. 2A with a total investment of about 320 billion VND.
According to the plan, this project is expected to be implemented in the first phase of the medium-term period 2026 - 2030 to soon complete the infrastructure, creating favorable conditions to attract investors.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also plans to implement a number of other large-scale infrastructure projects during the same period.
Among them, the following projects stand out:
The project to build a wastewater collection system and a transfer pumping station costs up to 1,268 billion VND.
Project to build a drainage system along Vong Cung Boulevard with an investment of 885 billion VND.
Project to build a riverbank protection embankment from Cau Phao canal to Sala urban area (738 billion VND).
Central lake digging investment project with budget of more than 662 billion VND.
Notably, Ho Chi Minh City also plans to invest more than VND2,600 billion to build protective embankments, dredge canals, and renovate the drainage system to prevent flooding and protect the environment for the entire Thu Thiem urban area.
According to the report of the Department of Construction, the priority of investment in these infrastructure projects is to complete the facilities, soon attract large domestic and foreign investors. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is urgently completing the necessary infrastructure conditions to auction and call for investors in the 9.2-hectare International Financial Center project in the Thu Thiem area.
In addition, the city is also planning to auction three large plots of land marked 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4 in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area. The auction of these plots of land will be a driving force to help the city have more revenue to continue reinvesting in urban development in the coming period.
