Accordingly, the exhibition "Da Nang - Past and Present" was organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City from March 22 to 30, at Bach Dang - Quang Trung Street (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City).
Here, many locals and tourists get to see and experience the famous traditional craft village space in Da Nang for the first time.
Among them, visitors can experience the craft of making Tuy Loan rice paper (Hoa Phong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), a craft village over 500 years old, recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (a tourist from Hanoi) was delighted to make Tuy Loan rice paper for the first time under the guidance of artisans.
“I thought making rice paper was simple. But when I had to spread the dough evenly on the mold myself, I realized that this job requires a lot of technique and dexterity. This was truly an interesting experience for me,” Ms. Hong shared.

No less attractive is the Cam Ne mat weaving space - a famous traditional craft village in Hoa Tien commune (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city). Here, many tourists enjoy threading sedge through the loom themselves and "walking" the first weaving lines.
In addition to experiential activities, the exhibition also takes people and tourists "back in time" by vividly recreating the image of Da Nang from its early days to its period of strong development with 305 photos, sketches, nearly 3,000 documents from books, newspapers, and royal decrees.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ha Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City - said that the exhibition "Da Nang - Past and Present" was organized to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang City Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).
“The event has helped recreate the glorious historical journey, honoring the achievements of the army, people and government of Da Nang City. I hope that through the event, it will spread pride, arouse the responsibility of the young generation in preserving and promoting the historical and cultural values of our beloved city,” Mr. Vy shared.
