Earth Hour 2025, Bac Ninh saves more than 13,000 kWh

The Earth Hour event in 2025 with the message "Green transition - Green future" has received positive responses from units, businesses and people in the province. After 1 hour of turning off the lights in response to the Earth Hour Campaign from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the evening of March 22, Bac Ninh saved more than 13,000 kWh; 2 times more than in 2024.

Many streets and areas in Bac Ninh City turned off lights in response to Earth Hour.

Responding to the Earth Hour event, all streets, public places, headquarters of agencies - businesses, service shops, ... in the whole province simultaneously turned off unnecessary lighting equipment. With active measures, within 60 minutes of responding to Earth Hour this year, the whole province saved more than 13,000 kWh of electricity. Nationwide, the amount of electricity saved was 448,000 kWh, equivalent to about 942.2 million VND.

To make the program meaningful and effective, Bac Ninh Electricity Company has coordinated with related units to organize communication activities in response to Earth Hour taking place in March to attract the attention of many organizations, agencies and people in the province to participate in the campaign. In which, the spreading power of the internet, digital transformation and social networks is utilized to promote propaganda on electricity saving and environmental protection.

2025 marks the 17th time Vietnam has participated in this campaign. The movement does not only stop at calling for electricity saving, but also aims at a broader goal of encouraging sustainable energy production activities, increasing the use of renewable energy, promoting the application of energy-saving products and equipment, contributing to improving energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects.
