On the morning of March 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province coordinated with relevant units to welcome a flight from Moscow (Russian Federation) to Khanh Hoa.
Flight SU294 of Russian national airline Aeroflot from Sheremetyevo International Airport (Moscow) carried 292 passengers.
This is the first commercial flight from Russia to Khanh Hoa after 3 years of suspension.
At the program, Khanh Hoa tourism industry and related units organized a water spraying ceremony to create a welcome gate and gave special souvenirs to the first passengers.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, the restoration of flights from Moscow to Khanh Hoa not only shortens travel time but also reduces airfare costs, creating favorable conditions to promote growth in the Russian tourist market.
Not only meeting the wishes of tourists, the reopening of the flight route also contributes to promoting trade and bilateral cooperation between Russia and Vietnam.
As a traditional international tourist market in Khanh Hoa, due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, direct flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa have been suspended.
Previously, in March 2022, flights were temporarily suspended to bring Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa. Russian tourists who want to travel to Khanh Hoa must transit through some countries such as Kazakhstan, China, etc.
It is known that Aeroflot operates the Moscow - Cam Ranh route with a frequency of 3 flights/week, using Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a capacity of 315 passengers and A330-300 with a capacity of 295 passengers.
