Opening at 5:00 p.m. on March 21 at Sake Village (Vinhomes Ocean Park 2, Ocean City), the Ocean BBQ & Brew Festival features five renowned international chefs, presenting unique grilling techniques representing cuisines from around the world.
On the opening day, Ocean BBQ & Brew Festival attracted more than ten thousand domestic and international tourists to visit and enjoy 150 grilled dishes and 120 types of beer at 64 festival booths.

The festival was attended by representatives of many embassies in Vietnam, chefs and culinary brands from many countries such as Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia, Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Lebanon..., creating a diverse culinary exchange space at Ocean City Hanoi.
After the opening ceremony, visitors flocked to 64 booths of more than 50 barbecue and beer brands representing cuisines from around the world. The European and Latin American barbecue booths attracted families with children because of the rich flavors and attractive appearance of BBQ skewers, wood-fired pizzas or traditional German sausages. “In addition to enjoying high-class barbecue from countries around the world, my family also learned a lot of interesting information about culinary culture and the origin of the dishes,” said Ms. Thanh, a bank employee in Hanoi.
The signature dishes of high-class European grilling such as Italian wood-fired pizza, French-style grilled beef, original German grilled sausages... or famous Latin-American grilling with rich BBQ pork ribs, eye-catching Brazilian-style grilled meat skewers, fatty Mexican meat pie immerse visitors in the attractive, fragrant grilling festival space.
For diners who love Asian cuisine, there is no shortage of choices with booths from familiar high-end brands such as quality Japanese barbecue of Yumemichi & Ramen Buta Shamoji, Yakimono or rich Korean barbecue Jeonbok, Goong BBQ, Diamond BBQ, Tuoi BBQ.... Spicy Chinese barbecue dishes are also present at the festival.
The Vietnamese BBQ area offers typical Northwest grilled dishes such as grilled armpit pig with mac mat leaves, grilled chicken with mac khen, grilled bamboo rice or whole roasted veal with traditional Vietnamese flavors. The Wonder BBQ brand of VinWonders along with the Lagoon and Fresh BBQ brands have attracted a large number of diners, especially foreign tourists. "I have always admired the unique culinary culture of Vietnam with its sophisticated preparation and typical spices that highlight the fresh ingredients. This grilled jungle fowl with mac khen served with bamboo rice is very impressive, I have invited more colleagues to come back to the festival tomorrow to enjoy other grilled dishes with beer", said Mr. Felix - a Polish teacher living in Ocean City.
In addition to the bustling barbecue stalls with fragrant smoke, craft beer stalls from Vietnamese brands also attract many beer connoisseurs to enjoy. More than 120 types of beer with unique flavors meet the diverse needs of diners, from light bitter beers with fruit flavors suitable for women to enjoy as a thirst quencher, to high bitter beers, marinated with wood smoke flavor suitable for men to sip with grilled meat or grilled seafood.
“Famous beer brands from Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Belgium are all available here. It feels like traveling across borders right at the event, I even bought a dozen more bottles to drink at home,” Mr. An (IT employee) happily showed off the “spoils of war” he just bought from the international beer stall of the event.
A special guest line-up of international chefs will take turns preparing, performing and serving grilled dishes at the counters throughout the festival. In particular, the Semi-Professional BBQ Competition, attracting amateur chefs, is ready at 3pm on March 23 with a total prize of up to 45 million VND.
In addition to the vibrant culinary scene, during the festival, visitors will be immersed in a series of exciting entertainment activities, including special culinary performances, vibrant street parades, combined with unique performances such as cooking hip-hop dance. In particular, beer and barbecue lovers can try their hand at dramatic minigames such as beer drinking competitions, beer and barbecue mukbang competitions, taking place from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The Ocean BBQ & Brew Festival is free to attend, offering visitors the chance to shop, sample hundreds of grilled dishes and sample premium beers at festival booths.
