(NLDO) - Tourists were extremely delighted to see the exquisite handicrafts made by the skillful hands of Ba Na artisans.
Kbang District, Gia Lai Province is a place with rich tourism potential with unique culture and majestic natural landscapes. In particular, this place also has traditional, incredibly beautiful handicraft products of the Ba Na people.
Among them, Mo Hra village, Kong Long Khong commune, Kbang district is a village with many artisans with "magic" hands who can create unique products. These products are not only evaluated by tourists as "more than works of art".
The Ba Na's backpacks are handcrafted with unique, delicate motifs.
Lam Mo Hra has 226 households and 874 people, of which 96% of the population is Ba Na. In this village, artisans are formed into teams. Men have weaving and gong playing teams, and women have brocade weaving teams.
Ms. Tran Thi Bich Ngoc, a cultural and social officer of Kong Long Khong commune, Kbang district, Gia Lai province, said that Mo Hra village was chosen to build a community tourism village. In recent times, this village has welcomed many domestic and international delegations.
Mr. Dinh H'Nhep, a Ba Na person in Kbang, said that the basket must be woven from giang trees cut in the forest, then split and placed in the kitchen loft for a week to dry and prevent termites.
Among the products, the basket is considered by artisans to be the most difficult to make because it requires splitting the giang tree into very small pieces and meticulously weaving intricate patterns.
Products such as chicken cages, baskets, trays... are handmade by artisans.
Brocade fabric is also a product that tourists love, often buying as gifts for relatives.
Tourists coming to Kbang district can learn handicrafts and buy products as gifts after an enjoyable vacation.
Tourists coming here are especially impressed by the traditional culture and cuisine of the Ba Na people. Especially foreign tourists are amazed and cannot believe that only from the hands can create such delicate woven products with unique patterns.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, a tourist from Hanoi, after witnessing the baskets, jars, containers... woven from bamboo, exclaimed: "The products are meticulous, very beautiful in every detail. If we say this is a work of art, it is more correct to say it is a handmade product."
