At the close of the stock trading session on October 14, the Vn-Index exploded. The strong increase of stocks in the VN30 basket helped the Vn-Index increase by 10.32 points (equivalent to 1.11%), to 940.18 points.
Today's session is the "stage" of the pair of stocks TCB and MSN, one representing the banking group and the other representing the food group.
Continuing the streak of 5 consecutive increasing sessions, MSN still shows no signs of stopping. Even at the closing session (ATC), ceiling price buy orders were pushed in, helping MSN close in purple (ceiling increase) to 80,000 VND/share.
But TCB of Techcombank was the "bright spot" of the entire floor. This stock achieved a "huge" trading volume, up 500% compared to the previous session (over 48.6 million). TCB also closed at the ceiling price of VND22,850/share. Notably, 25 million shares were traded by foreign investors.
The strong increase of this pair of stocks has brought great joy to shareholders. In particular, Mr. Ho Hung Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), who owns 39.3 million TCB shares. At the price of VND22,850, the value of Mr. Ho Hung Anh's shares reached VND900 billion (an increase of VND59 billion).
In addition, Mr. Ho Hung Anh is holding 247.2 million MSN shares (173.6 million shares indirectly owned through 47.56% of shares at Masan Joint Stock Company and 73.6 million MNS shares indirectly owned through 47.56% of shares at Hoa Huong Duong Construction Company Limited).
With a total of 247.2 million MSN shares, Mr. Ho Hung Anh increased his share value to VND 19,776 billion (an increase of VND 1,276 billion compared to October 13).
Thus, in just one trading session, Mr. Ho Hung Anh's assets through stock ownership increased by 1,335 billion VND.
After the trading session on October 14, the total assets of this billionaire through direct and indirect ownership of TCB and MSN shares were VND20,676 billion. Mr. Ho Hung Anh surpassed Mr. Tran Dinh Long, ranking 3rd in the top 200 richest people on the Vietnamese stock market.
Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Hoa Phat Group, currently owns 700 million HPG shares. Today's closing price is 28,350 VND, total assets are about 19,845 billion VND. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong , Chairman of VinGroup , is ranked No. 1 with about 180,000 billion VND and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of HDBank, General Director of VietJet Air, about 22,000 billion VND.
