Vietnam Sepak Takraw Team Makes a Strong Start at Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025

In the men's 4-team event, the Vietnamese team did not have a very favorable start when they lost to Myanmar with a score of 0-2 (11-15, 7-15). Despite their best efforts, the Vietnamese players encountered many difficulties against the fast and solid playing style of their opponents.

However, the team quickly regained their form when facing France. Thanks to good coordination and reasonable tactics, Vietnam won convincingly 2-0 (15-9, 15-4), thereby achieving an important victory on the first day of the tournament.

In the women's 4-team event, the Vietnamese girls had an excellent day with three consecutive victories. Opening with a match against Japan, Vietnam showed their superiority and won easily 2-0 (15-6, 15-3). Next, they defeated Myanmar also with a score of 2-0 (15-12, 15-10) in a tense match but still showed their mettle. Facing Sri Lanka in the third match, Vietnam completely dominated and easily won 2-0 (15-2, 15-3).

However, the biggest challenge for the women's team on the first day of competition was the encounter with Thailand, one of the strongest teams in the tournament. Despite a determined performance, Vietnam still lost 0-2 (10-15, 13-15), ending the day with three wins and one loss.

With this result, although the women's team lost the lead, they still have a big advantage in the race for tickets to the next round, while the men's team needs to continue to make efforts in the upcoming matches.
