(CLO) In recent times, the club model under the local Journalists Association has promoted its role and functions well. Many units have operated effectively, promoting the capacity of each member, contributing to the good implementation of information and propaganda work on socio-economic development tasks in the locality.
To gather, unite, and encourage journalist members to promote their creativity in creating quality journalistic works, many localities have launched Clubs that are suitable for the requirements of professional activities and experience exchange in their localities.

In Hai Phong city, to promote the effectiveness of each member, the City Journalists Association has issued the Regulations on the activities of the Hai Phong Press Photo Club, with the spirit of respecting the principle of "independence, autonomy, self-responsibility", thanks to which the Club has made important contributions to events organized by the Journalists Association.
After 8 years of establishment, each member of the Club has actively participated in creative activities. Many press photos have won high awards at photo exhibitions in Hai Phong, the Red River Delta region and nationwide. Every year, the Club maintains photo creation combined with social charity activities, organizing 3-5 photo exhibitions at various levels each year in many fields of politics, culture and society.
As at the end of 2024, with the attention of the Hai Phong City Journalists Association and the Navy, 12 members of the Press Photo Club were able to join the Truong Sa - DK1 Platform working groups to penetrate the reality, compose photos that were published in central and Hai Phong press publications, and widely displayed and introduced to the public.
Or recently, the At Ty Spring Newspaper Festival 2025, the members of the Club actively participated in the photo contest, to display at the Spring Newspaper Festival. The participation of the Club has enriched the event, this is also an opportunity for each Club member to look back on a year of recording the socio-economic development of the city.
Journalist Nguyen Anh Tu, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Journalists Association, said that when participating in the activities of the City Journalists Association, each member of the Club felt excited when their photographic works were recognized and honored. Their efforts in creating photographs were recognized by the City Journalists Association. That is why for about 6 years now, the Club members have maintained regular participation.
“In particular, to create cohesion among club members, the leaders of the City Journalists Association contacted localities, agencies, organizations, and businesses with investment projects and key projects to organize field trips for members to create works. If members do not go or cannot make contact, it will be difficult to have sources of materials for creation, and there will be no quality, diverse works,” journalist Nguyen Anh Tu added.
Not only in Hai Phong City, many clubs in the Southern region have also promoted the effectiveness of their activities, such as the Young Reporters Club of the Dong Nai Province Journalists Association. Promoting the pioneering, dynamic and creative spirit of the youth, in recent years, the Club has carried out a number of practical activities, especially strongly responding to the emulation movement of creative labor for press works.

Accordingly, regardless of their position, the young reporters always strive to assert themselves and complete their assigned tasks well. Thereby, they contribute to providing readers and listeners with quick, accurate, and comprehensive information about all daily and hourly developments in political, economic, and social life in the province. In particular, they are the authors who continuously produce many high-quality journalistic works, winning awards at the National Press Awards and other journalism awards.
Initially, when it was first established, the members of the Club had some limitations, such as lack of working experience, lack of observation ability, lack of specialized knowledge... However, thanks to the support from the Provincial Journalists Association in thematic activities, discussion exchanges and professional training courses, it has supported young reporters to study and improve their political theory and professional journalism skills.
Thanks to proactively and actively cultivating and learning from the experiences of seniors and veteran journalists, and quickly approaching changes in technology applied in the field of media and journalism, many young reporters have matured early. Many young reporters have been trusted to be appointed to key positions in provincial press agencies, and have also fulfilled their roles excellently.
Journalist Pham Thi Kim Chanh - Head of the Young Reporters Club said: "In addition to professional activities, charity and social work are also of special interest to young reporters, joining hands to extend the bridges of humanity. Charity and social trips are also an opportunity for young reporters to experience the reality of the grassroots, understand and sympathize more with the less fortunate lives that need help, thereby lighting the fire of humanity in the community."
It can be affirmed that in each locality there will be club models with different features. However, they all have in common the enthusiastic participation, proactive and creative spirit of each member, in addition to the skillful and responsible direction of the Provincial Journalists Association, which has contributed to maintaining and improving the effectiveness of each club model.
