Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh today (March 6) signed a document on temporarily suspending the implementation of projects to build office buildings and budget for purchasing in districts, communes and wards in the city.

Accordingly, agencies and units under the City People's Committee, District People's Committees, and project investors temporarily suspend the implementation of procedures for construction works and investment projects on new construction, repair, renovation, upgrading of office buildings, and purchase of assets of agencies, administrative units, and public service units at district/county and ward/commune levels (except in the fields of health and education) in the area until the City People's Committee issues new instructions.

In addition, be responsible for preserving assets at the construction site according to regulations; at the same time review and report on the implementation status, disbursement progress of works, projects, procurement estimates, and propose solutions to the Department of Finance and the Department of Construction before March 15.

The leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction to synthesize proposals from agencies and units, and advise the City People's Committee to resolve problems related to the suspension of construction projects and asset procurement according to regulations.

This temporary suspension request is in accordance with the policy of the Da Nang City Party Committee on implementing Conclusion No. 127-KL/TW of the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat to avoid waste in using the budget for investment and procurement at agencies and units implementing the policy of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus.

It is known that among the projects that are completing implementation procedures is the Hai Chau District Political - Administrative Center. This project was approved by the Da Nang City People's Council in July 2023, with a total cost of more than 420 billion VND.
