Candidates taking the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam this year

This method will evaluate candidates with 3 components and corresponding weights used for admission. The academic component accounts for 90%, personal achievements account for 5% and social activities, literature, sports and arts account for 5%. In which, the academic component includes 3 components: high school study scores (including 6 semesters corresponding to the admission registration combination); high school graduation exam scores (including subjects in the admission combination); 2023 capacity assessment test scores. In which, the capacity assessment test score has a weight of 50-75%; high school graduation exam scores have a weight of 20-30% and high school academic scores account for a maximum of 5%. The school's admissions council will decide how to convert scores between high school study scores, high school exam scores, capacity assessment test scores and weights based on the specific exam score spectrum.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that the school is waiting for the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam. However, the expected floor score this year will not change compared to the previous year. In 2022, the school's floor score for receiving applications will be 18/30 for both columns: high school academic results and high school graduation exam results.

Regarding the criteria for the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam, Mr. Thang said that the floor score often fluctuates within the median score of the entire exam score range. In 2023, the median score of both rounds of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam was 629 points (out of a maximum total score of 1,200 points).

Forecasting the benchmark scores for this year's majors, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Thang said that majors such as computer science and artificial intelligence will still attract students. However, because schools are increasing their quotas for these fields, the overall benchmark scores may not increase.

Besides, other majors that attract many candidates, with predicted benchmark scores the same as last year, include: logistics and supply chain management, mechatronic engineering, and automotive engineering.

Majors with average benchmark scores last year may have their benchmark scores slightly decreased this year according to the forecast of this year's high school score distribution. Majors that are picky about students but in great need of human resources such as industrial maintenance, construction engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. may also have their benchmark scores slightly decreased.

In 2022, the floor score for academic criteria in the combined method of many criteria of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is as follows: Floor score of Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam: 650 (scale of 1,200); Floor score of high school graduation exam: 18 (scale of 30); High school transcript score: 18 (scale of 30).

In 2022, admission score = [Converted capacity assessment score] x 70% + [Converted high school graduation exam score] x 20% + [High school study score] x 10%. In which: Converted capacity assessment score = [Capacity assessment score] x 90/990; Converted high school graduation exam score = [High school graduation exam score according to registered combination] x 3; High school study score = Total (Summary score of high school study year according to registered combination) for all three years of grades 10, 11, 12.

From the above formula, computer science has the highest benchmark score of 75.99; computer engineering takes 66.86 points; logistics and supply chain management 61.27; mechatronic engineering is 62.57; automotive engineering is 60.13...

Refer to the school's benchmark scores for majors in 2022 as follows:
