On November 21, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tien Giang province) said that since the beginning of the year, Tien Giang province has had 53 pig farming households in 12 communes of 8/11 districts, towns and cities affected by African swine fever (ASF). Of these, 1,158 sick pigs had to be destroyed, accounting for 54.4%.

At the "hot spot" of Xuan Dong commune, Cho Gao district, the epidemic was declared in the whole commune and 40 pig raising households were infected with ASF in 6/6 hamlets, 843 sick and dead pigs were destroyed.
The People's Committee of Xuan Dong commune has set up four quarantine checkpoints at the beginning of the road leading to the commune, at the intersections and at the intersections bordering other communes. They have requested the owners of the two ferry piers across Cho Gao canal to commit to not transporting pigs back and forth, to raise awareness and knowledge of the disease among the people, and to absolutely not sell sick pigs.
In particular, Tan Phu Dong, Cai Lay districts and Cai Lay town have not detected DTHCP.
