Accordingly, the Ministry of Health requested units to strengthen medical control at border gates, promptly detect and quarantine, and prevent the disease from entering and spreading into Vietnam.
Along with that, the Ministry of Health requires units to organize forces and means to be on duty, monitor and supervise disease developments and promptly handle arising situations.
Specifically, the Ministry of Health requested health departments to advise the People's Committees of provinces and cities to strengthen direction on disease prevention and control during the Lunar New Year 2025.
At the same time, mobilize resources and the participation of departments, branches and organizations in medical work during Tet; continue to monitor, supervise, detect early, promptly and thoroughly handle outbreaks of infectious diseases, not allowing them to spread and break out widely in the community.
In addition, units have increased inspection and disease surveillance at border gates to promptly detect, isolate and handle suspected cases and cases of infectious diseases, preventing the disease from entering and spreading into Vietnam.
On the other hand, units strengthen inspection, supervision and monitoring of the implementation of disease prevention and control work during Tet holiday.
Regarding medical examination and treatment, the Ministry of Health recommends that provincial and municipal health departments direct medical facilities to organize 24/7 on-call service; ensure adequate supplies of medicines, blood, infusion fluids, supplies, chemicals, medical equipment, and medical oxygen.
Units prepare emergency plans for events with large crowds; arrange hospital beds and vehicles, ready to respond and serve treatment and emergency work, especially emergency treatment for traffic accidents, fires, injuries, food poisoning and treatment of patients with infectious diseases during Tet.
In addition, the Ministry of Health also requested the health departments of provinces and cities to deploy food safety work for the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival season.
Units coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to strengthen inter-sectoral inspections to ensure food safety before, during and after Tet.
Units focus on product groups consumed a lot during Tet and festivals with high risk factors, food processing villages, provinces with border gates, and large cities.
