According to records, at public high school entrance exam sites in Cau Giay District (Hanoi), many candidates expressed excitement and joy after completing the English exam on the afternoon of June 10.
Many candidates "breathed a sigh of relief" after the first day of the exam.
“I am confident that I will get a high score in English because this is my favorite subject. The test was not difficult, so it only took me about 40 minutes to complete the test. I was most worried about the literature test, but this morning I did better than expected. Hopefully tomorrow's math test result will not be bad either,” said Nguyen Tung Bach, a candidate at the exam site of Cau Giay High School (Cau Giay District).

However, many parents are worried even though their children have done well in both the literature and English exams. Picking up his child at the exam site of Dich Vong Secondary School (Cau Giay District), Mr. Nguyen Van Quang (living in Cau Giay District) said that his child is confident that he will get over 9 points in literature and English each subject, but he is still very worried.
“The weather is so hot this afternoon, sitting outside makes me feel anxious. Seeing my child do well on the test makes me happy, but I am also worried. The test is not difficult, if the test score is high, the minimum score will be high, the competition ratio will be very close when only a few points difference will make one child pass and another fail. Moreover, I am worried that tomorrow's math test will be difficult when these two subjects are already easy,” Mr. Quang shared.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu (residing in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) encouraged his daughter with a loving hug.
Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong (residing in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) said that her child confidently got a 10 in English after the exam this afternoon. “I sat right at the school gate so that when my child finished the exam, I could see my mother right away. Seeing my child finish the exam and do well made me happy.
This morning, my child also said that literature is not his strong point, but he still achieved a score of 8 or higher, exceeding his expectations. He is confident, but I am still worried because mistakes can still happen during the test. Today, both subjects were not difficult, within his ability, but I am afraid that tomorrow's math will be difficult," Ms. Duong worried.
