MICE tourism is becoming one of the fastest growing sectors of the tourism industry. According to data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the number of MICE visitors in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 35% compared to the same period in 2023. Currently, Vietnam is a potential destination for MICE tourism in the region. Mordor Intelligence also forecasts that the MICE industry in Vietnam could reach 7.79 billion USD in 2025 and continue to grow to 10.75 billion USD in 2030.

Phu Quoc, the tropical paradise hosting APEC 2027, attracts MICE guests with large-scale events, art performances, economic conferences and lavish weddings. As the destination for a series of Indian and Thai billionaire weddings, the resort has made its mark on the Phu Quoc MICE map with creative architecture from the legendary Bill Bensley. The elegant Grand Ballroom, the largest in the hotel grounds with a ceiling height of up to 10 m, inspired by an academic hall for students more than a century ago, creates a banquet space in harmony with high-class resort, bringing a complete experience to attendees.
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort offers unique MICE experiences and services amidst breathtaking natural scenery
Possessing favorable conditions for the leading accommodation - transportation - tourism service infrastructure in Vietnam and Asia, Da Nang is currently the preferred destination for organizing many international events. In particular, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is considered a prominent representative, bringing a unique Mice experience amidst a spectacular natural landscape. The resort is highly appreciated for its premium airport lounge arrangement service, upgraded VIP transportation, unique theater-style auditorium and special welcoming standards.
The pillar-free banquet hall, considered the largest in the North in the 5-star hotel segment at Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel, is considered a highlight.
In Hai Phong, the MICE gateway of the North, the birth of the new flagship hotel Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel also sets a new standard for events and conferences in the port city, with an innovative Meet/Pay model consisting of 8 multifunctional spaces, meeting diverse needs from small-scale meetings to grand events.
Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh goes completely plastic-free in conference areas
In addition, according to event tourism unit Connect2Asia (C2A), the challenge for Vietnam is strong competition from leading countries in MICE in the region. More specifically, compared to Singapore, Vietnam has not fully integrated sustainable factors, which may limit the ability to attract organizations interested in the environment.
To overcome this situation, some destinations such as Cam Ranh and Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh have become new choices. Accordingly, the resort's commitment to quality for MICE guests is reflected in its culinary services, choosing local ingredients, ensuring freshness and sustainability. It also issued a rule to not use disposable plastic in the conference and seminar area, replacing it with biodegradable solutions.
Currently, the trend of sustainability and wellness is becoming an increasingly important criterion. As advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) open up the era of optimized schedules and smart connections, hybrid meetings and in-person gatherings are also making a strong comeback, seeking compact spaces, creating deep connections and sparking creativity. Personalized experiences are no longer optional, but becoming the new standard for the class of destinations, to meet the unique needs of customers.
