Storm No. 2 has passed for more than a week, but tens of thousands of hectares of rice in the Mekong Delta are still flooded. For the fallen rice fields, farmers in many places are at risk of losing everything, because the cost of manual rice harvesting is very high.
To reduce damage to farmers, the authorities and agricultural sectors of the Mekong Delta provinces are urgently implementing many support solutions, such as: Organizing the dredging and expansion of drainage systems in the fields; operating anti-flooding pumping stations at full capacity; mobilizing local forces to help people harvest and thresh rice... SGGP reporters were present in many localities to record the above activities.
