Ho Chi Minh City is a favorite destination for many foreign tourists not only because of its beautiful scenery but also because of its diverse cuisine with many delicious dishes.

VietNamNet newspaper introduces a series of articles "Foreign visitors try Vietnamese food in Ho Chi Minh City" about the experiences of international visitors when enjoying Vietnamese food in this city.

Chad Kubanoff (37 years old) is an American chef, currently living in Ho Chi Minh City. He owns a social media account with more than 26 million followers, regularly posting cooking videos and experiencing street food in Vietnam.

In a recent video posted on YouTube, Chad introduces viewers to three typical Vietnamese noodle dishes that, in his opinion, are just as delicious as pho, or even better. They are bun moc, bun rieu, and bun bo Hue.

Among them, the American chef rated Bun Bo Hue the most highly, admitting that "it is probably the best soup (dishes with broth or stewed in water) I have ever eaten in Vietnam".

With many years of experience living in Ho Chi Minh City, Chad suggests a famous delicious Hue beef noodle restaurant on Le Van Thiem Street, District 7.

He commented that the price of Hue beef noodle soup here is a bit more expensive than the average but worth visiting because the flavor is considered delicious and attractive.

At the restaurant, the American chef ordered a special Hue beef noodle soup for 100,000 VND, including many ingredients such as pork leg, beef, spring rolls, crab rolls, blood,...

The Western guest showed off his local flair by adding lemon juice, raw vegetables and a little chili to make the dish more appealing.

When tasting, Chad described the dish as having a diverse flavor, rich broth, fragrant with pork, beef, lemongrass, pineapple and shrimp paste. In his personal opinion, the Western guest rated the Hue beef noodle dish here as excellent.

He also likes the way they slice the beef into thin, bite-sized pieces. “Bun bo Hue is a great dish and I think you should definitely try it if you come to Vietnam,” Chad said.

American chefs compare Hue beef noodle soup with crab noodle soup, which are quite similar because they are both served with raw vegetables. However, people often season it with shrimp paste when enjoying crab noodle soup. Meanwhile, Hue beef noodle soup is cooked with shrimp paste.

This is also the reason he commented that Hue beef noodle soup has a more delicate flavor, because the ingredients are cooked together instead of being seasoned at the end.

However, Chad also believes that each restaurant has its own secret to seasoning. And he finds that the taste of Hue beef noodle soup is not too strong, easy to eat, to the point that his children can enjoy and love it.
