Developing transport infrastructure is one of the key programs of the Resolution of the Nong Cong District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. After half a term of implementation, along with other key programs, investment in developing rural transport infrastructure is considered to have achieved many positive and outstanding results.
The project to upgrade and renovate provincial road 505 passing through Nong Cong district with a length of 25.3 km, construction value of 282 billion VND, started at the end of December 2022, is being focused on accelerating the progress by the construction unit, Minh Tuan Construction Investment Joint Stock Company. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quan, director of the company, said: Immediately after the project started, the unit focused on human resources and means to accelerate the progress. Up to this point, many items have been implemented with a volume of about 50%, such as: construction of road surface, longitudinal drainage ditches. Currently, 6 construction teams are focusing on longitudinal drainage ditches, ensuring that this August, asphalt paving will be carried out (section from Gao bridge to Khe Ngang bridge with a length of 1 km, in Nong Cong town). The unit is striving to complete the construction of the road surface in Cong Chinh, Cong Liem and Yen My communes, with a length of 12 km in 2023. In general, the construction progress up to this point basically meets the district's requirements.
Taking advantage of the clear weather, the construction workers of Ngoc Lam 2 Bridge in Truong Giang Commune are focusing on speeding up the construction progress. The joint venture contractor, Mr. Le Minh Tri, Director of Thanh Hoa Bridge Construction Joint Stock Company, said: Although the project was just started in March 2023 and was constructed in extreme weather conditions, to ensure the progress and quality of the project, the unit always focused on maximum human resources and machinery for construction. Up to this point, 1/6 of the bridge abutments have been constructed and completed, with an estimated construction value of about 12%. Striving to complete Ngoc Lam Bridge by the end of 2024 and put into use as per the contract signed with the district.
Nong Cong has a road traffic system in the district of 1,622.83 km (national highway 58.7 km, provincial road 94.57 km, district road 35.8 km, commune road 235.36 km, village road 255.8 km, alley road 379.2 km, intra-field road 563.4 km). In order to ensure a synchronous traffic network in the area, serving the task of socio-economic development and the travel needs of the people, the district has issued the Project "Consolidating and upgrading the system of irrigation works, intra-field traffic in Nong Cong district in the period of 2010-2015 and the period of 2015-2020" with support from the district budget and has promoted positive effects. In particular, with the implementation of the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2021-2025 term, since the beginning of the term, the district has implemented hundreds of traffic projects, with more than 20 traffic projects being deployed and implemented in 2023 alone.
After half a term of implementing the Resolution of the District Party Congress, the traffic infrastructure in Nong Cong district has achieved impressive results. Many roads have been upgraded, expanded and newly built to connect regions in the district together. Typically, the road connecting Tuong Linh Industrial Park to Provincial Road 525, the traffic road connecting National Highway 45 from Nong Cong town to Trieu Son district, etc., contributing to the rate of hardening of traffic roads reaching 99.5%, an increase of 0.5% compared to 2020.
Currently, in the district, there are a number of large projects with long-term strategies that have been and are being implemented, such as: the North-South expressway section through the district, Van Thien road to Ben En, the traffic road connecting National Highway 45 from Nong Cong town to Trieu Son district (No Hen bridge), Tuong Linh road to Do Trap, upgrading and renovating Highway 505 through the district and building Ngoc Lam 2 bridge in Truong Giang commune...
Evaluating the effectiveness of traffic infrastructure development in the past half term, Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Nong Cong district, Mr. Nguyen The Son said: The initial results of traffic infrastructure development after the first half term have created a "leverage" for socio-economic development, and at the same time are conditions for "going ahead" in infrastructure construction, building advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas. Therefore, in the coming time, the district will continue to complete the traffic works system, related traffic safety systems to meet the scale, technical level and expand intersections, build parking lots suitable for each area. 100% of district roads have been hardened; 100% of commune roads have been hardened; 80% of village roads have been hardened. Repairing the surface of commune and village roads that have been asphalted and concreted to achieve a road surface width of 5m for commune roads, 4m for village roads...
