TPO - Nguyen Hoang Bridge - a key traffic project across the Perfume River in Hue city, is currently entering the final construction phase to complete technical traffic in time for the 50th anniversary of Hue Liberation Day.
The Nguyen Hoang road bridge project across the Huong River connecting Thuan Hoa and Phu Xuan districts (Hue City) will start construction in December 2022, with a total investment of more than VND 2,280 billion, invested by the Hue City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. |
The bridge is about 380m long and 43m wide, including 6 lanes, a safety strip and a 3m wide sidewalk on both sides of the bridge. In particular, the bridge is designed with 4 curved branches, connecting to the park on both banks of the Huong River, creating an architectural highlight in harmony with the natural landscape of Hue. |
Nguyen Hoang Bridge and the connecting road system are expected to be completed within 3 years from the start of construction (December 2025). The project not only completes the connecting traffic infrastructure, but is also expected to create an important boost to promote the socio-economic and tourism development of the ancient capital. |
Faced with the urgent need to expand the transport network, as well as to create a mark on investment in transport construction to welcome Hue becoming a centrally-run city, towards the 50th anniversary of Hue Liberation Day (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025), the local government has directed investors and contractors to focus all their efforts on speeding up the construction progress of the project. |
During the construction process, the project faced many challenges, especially the harsh weather in the Central region, along with limiting the impact on the flow, ensuring the safety of waterways and the ecosystem of the Huong River. Currently, more than 190 engineers and workers are working day and night to ensure progress, with more than 97% of the project completed. |
According to the plan, the asphalt paving of the bridge surface will be completed before March 15. Contractors continue to focus on completing the remaining items to ensure the technical traffic opening on March 26, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Hue Liberation. |
In these final days of "sprinting", the construction atmosphere at Nguyen Hoang bridge site has become busier and more bustling than ever. |
The new black asphalt surfaces give the building a solid and modern feel. |
Road rollers, asphalt pavers and many other construction equipment operate at full capacity, with the desire to ensure that every meter of road is of the best quality when put into use. |
One of the highlights of Nguyen Hoang Bridge is the use of a special steel arch system when constructing the main structure of the project to increase durability and load-bearing capacity; both ensuring the quality of the project and minimizing construction time, helping to speed up the completion process. |
A representative of the Nguyen Hoang bridge construction unit said that the project is now more than 97% complete. Of which, the difficult items of the project, the main structure of the bridge, have been basically completed. "To ensure the progress of the project, for more than 10 consecutive days, we have always worked until after 2 am before stopping. In addition, the unit always encourages and takes care of the workers wholeheartedly to ensure their health, work safely, and strive to complete the project on schedule," said a contractor representative. |
Recently, the working group of the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality had a working session with the leaders of Hue City People's Committee and the project investor. The representative of the working group noted that the conditions for the completion of the project should be ensured for early technical acceptance. The bridge inspection and load testing is expected to be completed on March 10. The remaining items will be completed before March 20, in time for technical acceptance on March 26. |
