At this time, people in the province are urgently implementing the 2025 spring crop production. To ensure the most effective production, agricultural material businesses in the province have proactively developed plans and actively prepared varieties and fertilizers of guaranteed quality, diverse types, and timely supply to meet people's production needs.
In the spring crop of 2025, the whole province strives to plant nearly 44,000 hectares of various crops, including 3,646 hectares of rice, 24,818 hectares of corn, 5,010 hectares of tobacco... Accordingly, the demand for seeds and fertilizers in the spring crop in the whole province is about 90,000 tons of rice seeds, 73,000 tons of corn seeds and 56 thousand tons of various fertilizers. Up to now, the whole province has planted 4,164 hectares of tobacco, reaching 83.12% of the plan; 648.29 hectares of various vegetables, reaching 91% of the plan; 127.64 hectares of potatoes, exceeding 30% of the plan; 24 hectares of black jelly, reaching 4.21% of the plan... The remaining area is being planted by local people to ensure the season.
According to the survey, in the province there are nearly 70 establishments trading in plant varieties, 222 establishments trading in fertilizers, and 130 establishments qualified to trade in plant protection drugs. Determining the time to start implementing spring planting is the time when the demand for fertilizers increases, to ensure timely supply of all types of fertilizers for farmers to produce spring crops in 2025, from the end of 2024, units, agents, and establishments trading in agricultural materials in the province will proactively reserve goods with many types, ensuring quality, meeting the requirements of serving local people, not allowing shortages or price increases even at peak times.
Director of Cao Bang Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company Nguyen Van Binh said: In the spring crop of 2025, based on the planting plan, from the end of December 2024, the Company proactively gathered more than 10,000 tons of various fertilizers and transported them to stores and agents in the province to promptly supply to producers according to the season. The remaining amount of fertilizer needed for production, the unit will continue to gradually import in the coming time to ensure adequate and timely supply to the people.
Currently, the average selling price of some fertilizer products supplied on the market is slightly increasing compared to the same period in 2024. Mr. Doan Minh Truong, owner of a fertilizer and agricultural supplies store in Quang Uyen town (Quang Hoa) shared: To ensure the source of fertilizer to serve the production needs of local people, the store chooses reputable and quality fertilizer production and distribution units to import fertilizers ready to supply to people. Currently, the average selling price of all types of fertilizers at the store has fluctuated compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically, Ha Bac nitrogen is being sold at an average price of 10,805 VND/kg, an increase of more than 500 VND/kg, Lam Thao NPK from 6,265 - 9,130 VND/kg depending on the type; superphosphate 5,981 VND/kg, an increase of nearly 800 VND/kg; potassium alone 9,667 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,499 VND/kg...
Regarding plant varieties, from the end of 2024, companies, agents, stores selling and supplying plant varieties in the province have also proactively developed plans to supply seeds to ensure adequate and diverse supply of quality seeds to serve the production needs of the people. Mr. Be Dinh Duy, Director of Cao Bang Seed Joint Stock Company, said: To proactively supply seeds to serve the 2025 spring crop production, the Company has developed a plan and soon completed a contract to import more than 40 tons of various seeds from large and reputable seed production units to distribute to agents in districts and cities to supply quality seeds to farmers in time for the crop season, the remaining seeds will be continuously imported into the warehouse in the coming time to serve the production of the people. The prices of seeds this year have increased compared to last year.
In addition to meeting the quantity requirements, the quality of fertilizers and seeds is always guaranteed by agents and stores. Fertilizer products of many stores and agents are imported directly from large enterprises, fertilizer factories, reputable seed companies, national brands, and quality assurance. The inspection and supervision of fertilizers and seeds sold at stores and agents is regularly implemented by the functional sector in coordination with distribution units, especially before each production season to prevent counterfeit goods and avoid causing damage to farmers.
There are still many types of fake fertilizers and seeds, poor quality fertilizers and seeds being sold on the market. To effectively implement the spring crop production and avoid waste, people need to pay attention when buying fertilizers and seeds, they should choose to buy at authorized agents and stores of Cao Bang Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company or reputable agricultural materials stores in the area. After using fertilizers and seeds, keep the product packaging and samples. When applying fertilizer, if you see that the fertilizer does not dissolve, is lumpy, or has an unusual color, you must stop using it and report to the authorities for clarification.
