Announcement of opening of bilateral border gate Ly Van (Vietnam)

On the morning of February 27, the People's Committee of Ha Lang district (Vietnam) and the Party Committee and People's Government of Dai Tan district (China) held a ceremony to announce the opening of the bilateral border gate of Ly Van (Vietnam) - Thac Long (China).

On the Cao Bang province side, there were comrade Trinh Truong Huy, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors and Ha Lang district.

On the Chinese side, there were Comrade Diao Weihong, Deputy Mayor of Chongzuo City People's Government; leaders of Daxin District; representatives of agencies and units: customs, border guards, foreign affairs office of Chongzuo City, Guangxi (China).

In recent years, in the spirit of the common understanding reached between the senior leaders of the two Parties and the two States on "building a community of shared future of strategic significance between Vietnam and China", the friendly exchange and comprehensive cooperation between Cao Bang province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have always been strengthened and promoted, increasingly going into practical depth and effectiveness in all fields.

After a period of coordination in implementing and completing bilateral procedures and reaching a high level of consensus among relevant parties, with the consent of the Governments of Vietnam and China, the attention and support of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee, the central ministries and branches of the two countries, together with the cooperative efforts of the authorities of the two provinces/regions of Cao Bang - Guangxi; relevant departments and branches and the two districts of Ha Lang and Dai Tan, up to now, the two sides have completed internal procedures to officially open the bilateral border gate of Ly Van (Vietnam) - Thac Long (China).

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of Ha Lang District Party Committee Vu Khac Quang affirmed: Ly Van (Vietnam) - Thac Long (China) border gate is the most convenient traffic connection gateway to key tourist destinations of the two provinces/regions, at the same time, with the existing infrastructure conditions and flexible support policies, it promises to be an additional piece to the border gate system on the border between Cao Bang province - Guangxi, bringing new prospects, new breakthroughs in promoting trade exchanges between the two countries, actively contributing to promoting the rapid and sustainable development of the two countries' socio-economy, building a friendly, prosperous and happy border.

The announcement ceremony is of great significance, meeting the aspirations and practical and urgent development needs of the two localities in particular, opening up new opportunities and new bright spots in enhancing socio-economic exchanges between the two provinces/regions of Cao Bang and Guangxi in general, and between Ha Lang district and Dai Tan district in particular. At the same time, it is a premise for implementing tight and synchronous infrastructure planning connections; improving the quality of investment attraction work; jointly researching and building appropriate policy mechanisms, bringing new favorable conditions for trade, tourism and people-to-people exchange activities...; more effectively exploiting the development potential and strengths of the two sides.

Propose that the competent authorities at the border gates of both sides strengthen coordination in management, operation and effective exploitation, maximize the functions of the bilateral border gates; create a business environment and the most favorable conditions for organizations, enterprises and individuals to participate in import-export activities and investment in the border gate area. In the coming time, hope that the senior leaders of both sides, as well as the leaders of the two provinces/regions, continue to pay attention to and invest in infrastructure, promote the completion of procedures, continue to propose that the Governments of the two countries agree to upgrade the Ly Van - Thac Long border gate to an international border gate, including the Ban Khoong - Nham Ung customs clearance. Join hands to develop and make the Ly Van - Thac Long border gate soon become one of the new economic, cultural and tourism exchange centers of Cao Bang and Guangxi.
