This is Mr. Knapper’s sixth Tet in Vietnam but his third year celebrating Tet as the US Ambassador. This year, the US Ambassador and the staff of the US Embassy in Vietnam chose to celebrate Ong Cong and Ong Tao Day with a game of catch-the-word in Vietnamese.
In the first challenge of the game, Ambassador Knapper failed to guess the word "meat jelly". However, he helped other embassy staff pass the other questions with ease, including difficult puzzles like "fireworks".

Also through the game of catch the word, it shows that Ambassador Knapper's Vietnamese pronunciation has made a lot of progress in recent times. And the embassy staff also have impressive Vietnamese skills.
At the end of the game, Ambassador Knapper and US Embassy staff together sent their best wishes for the Lunar New Year 2024 to the Vietnamese people.
Unlike US Ambassador Knapper, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Shawn Steil chose to buy apples to celebrate Ong Cong, Ong Tao Day in a humorous style, along with wishing the Vietnamese people a happy Ong Cong, Ong Tao Day.

Previously, Ambassador Steil and his wife experienced the feeling of buying peaches for the first time at Nhat Tan peach garden.
With the support of embassy staff, Ambassador Steil chose a branch with many buds and sawed it himself, bringing it home to enjoy before Tet. The peach branch has a round canopy and is expected to bloom with many flowers. This is the second time the ambassador has celebrated Vietnamese Tet and the first time he has experienced buying peach blossoms. According to him, the atmosphere these days makes the ambassador and his wife feel very excited.
