The race for the National Women's Cup championship

Six teams will compete in the 2025 National Women's Football Cup and aim for the prestigious championship. The tournament begins on March 25.

At the 2025 National Women's Football Cup, 6 teams are divided into two groups (3 teams each) and will compete in a round-robin at the host unit to calculate points and rank. Group A includes the teams: Thai Nguyen T&T, Son La and Ho Chi Minh City; Group B includes: Vietnam Coal and Minerals (Than KSVN), Hanoi and Phong Phu Ha Nam.

The four teams finishing First and Second in each group will play off to determine the Champion, Second, Third and Fourth place teams. The two Third placed teams in each group will play off for Fifth and Sixth place.

Group B witnessed a particularly exciting competition between 3 teams that are all championship candidates, in which Than KSVN is highly appreciated with the presence of many national players such as Duong Thi Van, Diem My, Thuy Hang, Khong Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Van or some outstanding young talents in the squad.

Talking about this year's season, National player Duong Thi Van commented: "The whole team has also prepared very carefully in terms of physical fitness as well as improving mental expertise. The whole team's physical condition is very good to enter the 2025 National Cup. The team's goal has also been determined to try to defend the championship and hope to win this tournament for the third consecutive time."

Fans are also expecting something special from Phong Phu Ha Nam with a squad that includes many young talents such as Luu Hoang Van, Le Hong Yeu..., combined with veterans Lan Mai, Tran Thi Duyen and captain Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung. However, this team is still very cautious when talking about the goal at the 2025 National Women's Football Cup.

Coach Nguyen Khanh Thu said: “We are in a difficult group, so Phong Phu Ha Nam Club must try our best in each match, first of all aiming for the semi-finals. After that, the team will aim for the final match and beyond. Currently, Phong Phu Ha Nam’s squad consists of many young players who have just been promoted from the U19 team. They also need time to develop and adapt to professional football.”

Meanwhile, Group A witnessed the competition for the top spot between Ho Chi Minh City and Thai Nguyen T&T along with the determination of Son La. Before the tournament starts, Ho Chi Minh City will have one more match in the AFC Women's Champions League 2024/25 against Abu Dhabi Coutry (UAE). Coach Kim Chi and her team will aim for a win as a premise for the domestic arena.

For Thai Nguyen T&T Club, the large investment from the sponsor will come with pressure for coach Van Thi Thanh. The tea land team does not hide its ambition to win the championship.

The matches of the 2025 National Women's Football Cup will take place at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from March 25 to April 6, 2025, of which 10 matches will be livestreamed on the VFF Channel Youtube channel.
