In Buddhist culture, Buddha's relics are revered as treasures and considered the miracle of Buddhism.

For Buddhists, worshiping the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni is like seeing the Buddha still present in this world, with compassion, joy, and forgiveness, saving all living beings.

Therefore, worshiping Buddha's relics during the Vesak 2025 festival is one of the rituals with special significance for Buddhists and people to receive blessings from Buddha, seek peace, and complete happiness.

Series of events celebrating Buddha's birth

According to information from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the 2025 Vesak Festival will be held from April 1 to April 15, At Ty year (ie from April 28 to May 12, 2025).

During the two weeks of Buddha's Birthday, along with the procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics, many meaningful activities celebrating Buddha's birthday will be held on top of Ba Den Mountain .

On this occasion, Buddhists and tourists coming to the highest mountain in the South will join in the Buddha bathing ritual - one of the important rituals to express respect and gratitude when welcoming the birth of Buddha.

Here, the Buddha bathing ceremony is recreated at Tay Bo Da Son square, under the stupa housing the Buddha's relics, to recreate the miraculous scene of Buddha's birth. This is also an opportunity for everyone to cleanse their body and mind, and find peace of mind right on the top of the sacred mountain.

In particular, within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, the VBS will solemnly and extensively organize a candle lighting ceremony to pray for world peace on the top of Ba Den Mountain on May 8.

With the participation of thousands of Vesak delegates from more than 80 countries and territories, the candle lighting ceremony is a particularly meaningful activity towards the theme of Vesak 2025: "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development".

Also on May 8, a commemorative Bodhi tree planting ceremony, with 108 Bodhi trees symbolizing enlightenment and harmony, will be held by delegates from more than 80 countries. Each tree will bear the name of a country, as an eternal mark of Vesak 2025 on this sacred mountain.

Known as the most sacred mountain in the South, Ba Den Mountain is famous for its ancient pagoda system and majestic spiritual structures on the top of the mountain.

Welcoming thousands of Vesak 2025 delegates from around the world, Ba Den Mountain is now also a pilgrimage land for Buddhists and tourists both domestically and internationally.
