On the morning of September 14, a working delegation from the Department of Social Protection led by Mr. To Duc, Director of the Department, visited the Department of Pediatrics at Bach Mai Hospital to visit, give gifts and encourage the children and their relatives affected by the fire in a mini apartment building on Khuong Ha Street (Hanoi) that occurred on the night of September 12.

According to a report from the Social Work Department of Bach Mai Hospital, the hospital's Pediatrics Department is currently receiving and treating 11 children (aged 9-11) with various injuries. Many of the children have parents who are also being treated here. By the morning of September 14, all of the children had relatives to help care for them.

Meeting with the children and their relatives who were victims of the fire, Mr. To Duc and members of the working group shared their losses and encouraged them and their relatives to rest assured during treatment, overcome physical and mental pain, and recover their health soon. At the same time, he affirmed that the Department of Social Protection and other agencies and units always share and accompany the victims and their families in the fire to soon overcome difficulties.

The Department of Social Protection also expressed its gratitude to the team of doctors, nurses, and social workers who promptly treated, cared for, and helped stabilize the children's psychology. Especially in the initial stage of admission, the children were alone because their relatives were also in the emergency room.

Mr. To Duc also said that in order to promptly support victims affected by the fire, the Department of Social Protection has sent an official dispatch requesting the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi City to urgently coordinate with relevant agencies and local authorities to grasp the damage situation and deploy work to overcome the consequences of the fire. Organize visits, encouragement, and emergency assistance for victims of the fire according to the provisions of Decree No. 20/2021/ND-CP dated March 15, 2021 of the Government regulating social assistance policies for social protection beneficiaries. Summarize and report the implementation results to the Department of Social Protection before September 16, 2023 to report to the Minister.

According to information from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi, the unit has organized delegations to visit, encourage and support the families of the victims and victims of the fire at: Military Hospital 103, Bach Mai Hospital, Post Office Hospital, Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Xanh Pon General Hospital and Ha Dong Hospital.

At the same time, direct cash support of 37,000,000 VND/person deceased and 12,400,000 VND/person injured from funding sources: City budget, Thanh Xuan district, Support Fund of the City Fatherland Front Committee.

For children, the City Children's Support Fund provides additional support: VND 5,000,000/child who died and VND 10,000,000/child who was injured and had to be treated in hospital.
