In the days before Tet, Quang Ba flower market (Tay Ho, Hanoi) is bustling again. The market operates almost all day, from morning to late evening, selling all kinds of ornamental plants and flowers. Going to Quang Ba night flower market has become a unique cultural feature of Hanoians every time Tet comes and Spring comes.
Flowers at Quang Ba market are considered more beautiful and fresh than other flower markets in Hanoi. Quang Ba flower market not only serves wholesale customers in the capital but also retail customers who come to visit and shop.
Quang Ba flower market is bustling from the full moon of the twelfth lunar month until the afternoon of the 30th of Tet. The market mostly sells flowers from neighboring areas such as Tay Tuu, Me Linh or Dong Anh... In addition, there are also flowers brought from Da Lat to serve the needs of people during Tet.
Hundreds of flowers of all kinds are on sale. In addition to familiar flowers such as peach, rose, lily, chrysanthemum, gerbera, etc., there are also imported flowers such as snow plum, iris, delphinium, tulip, etc.
According to Ms. Thu Minh (a flower vendor at Quang Ba market), the prices of flowers this year have not fluctuated much. Double lilies with 5-ear branches cost 350,000 VND, and Nhat Tan peach blossoms are also at an average price, not more expensive than last year.
"Flower sales this year are moderate and not as popular as previous years. Prices of all types of flowers have remained stable, some have decreased slightly but not significantly. Typical Tet flowers such as peach blossoms, pear blossoms, and apricot blossoms are the most popular flowers," Ms. Minh shared.
Hanoi's weather at night sometimes drops below 10 degrees Celsius, so flower vendors have to burn firewood to keep warm.
Coming to the market, visitors can admire the different vibrant colors from colorful flower stalls with hundreds of flower species.
Couples experience the night flower market in the cold weather in Hanoi.
