On the evening of August 28, Topenland Binh Dinh Football Club announced that it had parted ways with head coach Nguyen Duc Thang. Despite great investment and expectations, the martial arts team only finished 7th in the 2023 V-League and 3rd in the 2023 National Football Cup.

Topenland Binh Dinh's announcement reads: "Coach Nguyen Duc Thang has ended his journey with the martial arts team. So after nearly 4 years, with personal wishes, coach Nguyen Duc Thang says goodbye to the club to rest for a while."

Starting to lead Topenland Binh Dinh club since December 2019, coach Nguyen Duc Thang has brought the martial arts team to the following milestones: Champion of V-League 2 (First Division) in the 2020-2021 season and won a ticket back to V-League after 12 years; 3rd place in V-League in the 2021-2022 season; Runner-up of the 2022 National Football Cup; 3rd place in the 2023 National Football Cup.

“With extensive coaching experience, flexible and modern tactical thinking, and close coordination with the team's leadership, coach Nguyen Duc Thang has made many important contributions to Binh Dinh football in the past time. Thank you for your contributions. Wishing Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang and his family good health and happiness. During this time, assistant coach Bui Doan Quang Huy will replace and lead the team's coaching staff,” the announcement of Topenland Binh Dinh club said.

After coach Nguyen Duc Thang left Topeland Binh Dinh, there were rumors that goalkeeper Dang Van Lam was also preparing to leave Quy Nhon Stadium. Topenland Binh Dinh has yet to comment on the rumor that Van Lam is leaving the team.
