The Glorious Ashes has surpassed the strong candidate Mrs. Nu's House to win the Golden Kite Award in the category of "Best Film".
This is the work that marks the return to the big screen of director Bui Thac Chuyen after a decade since The Blood Curse . The film is adapted from two short stories by writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu, Glorious Ashes and Drifting Firewood .
Previously, Mrs. Nu's House was predicted to win this award as the most popular film in the Vietnamese market with a revenue of 475 billion VND.
The film "Glorious Ashes" won the Golden Kite Award.
In the important category of Best Actor - Actress in a Movie, the couple Thai Hoa - Thu Trang with the movie Con Nhót nhớt chồng unexpectedly surpassed many strong competitors to win. Due to personal matters, Thai Hoa was absent, so the couple Thu Trang - Tien Luat received the award on his behalf. The actress expressed her emotions and thanked the crew and audience.
In particular, artist Thai Hoa also received the award for "Best Actor in a TV Series". With his impressive role in Don't Make Me Angry, Quynh Nguyen won the category of "Best Actress in a TV Series".
Thu Trang received the award for "Best Actress in a Movie".
Outstanding TV series named Mother Straw by director Nguyen Phuong Dien. Sharing at the moment of receiving the award, director Nguyen Phuong Dien said it was an honor and emotion when the film was honored at the Golden Kite 2023.
Tran Thanh received the award for "Outstanding Screenwriter for a Movie" with the success of Mrs. Nu's House . Due to being busy with work, Hari Won received the award on behalf of her husband. Director Bui Thac Chuyen won the "Outstanding Director" category for his art film Glorious Ashes.
The 2023 Golden Kite Awards ceremony made an impression with the Wall of Fame - the first project in Vietnam to recognize and honor individuals and groups with outstanding contributions to the country's 7th art.
The Wall of Fame with 433 stars represents 107 outstanding works, 297 outstanding individuals who are authors, artists, filmmakers and 29 veteran filmmakers of Vietnamese cinema.
This project is expected to become an attractive check-in point for domestic and foreign tourists when coming to the coastal city of Nha Trang on their Vietnam travel itinerary.
