On October 17, Chu Lai Port received and unloaded nearly 4,000 TEUs of cargo in just over 24 hours. This is an impressive figure, demonstrating the port’s capacity to exploit, release ships and serve import and export goods.
Accordingly, nearly 2,000 import and export containers from 3 ships SITC HENGDE (SITC shipping line), CNC SULAWESI (CMA CGM shipping line) and HAIAN BELL (Hai An shipping line) were loaded and unloaded safely and quickly. The main items are auto parts, garments, furniture, medical equipment, fruits, tapioca starch... of enterprises in the Central region, Central Highlands, Southern Laos and Northern Cambodia.
To ensure the capacity of operating ships with large loading and unloading output, Chu Lai port arranges a large-capacity crane system STS and eRTG to lift and lower containers; at the same time, arranges ship reception schedules, worker shift regimes, and clears container yards appropriately and scientifically; closely coordinates with state management agencies... Thereby, helping the cargo handling process go smoothly, ensuring the time for ships to arrive and depart from the port according to schedule.
Currently, Chu Lai port has completed and put into operation wharf No. 2 with a length of 365m, increasing the total length of the port to 836m, ensuring the reception of container ships with a capacity of up to 50,000 DWT, in order to optimize exploitation efficiency and enhance the capacity of THILOGI's full-package logistics service chain.
In the coming time, the port will continue to establish many direct service routes to ports in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, India, etc.; at the same time, expand cooperation with many international container shipping lines so that businesses have more suitable service options, promote import and export activities in the region and expand trade connections from Chu Lai port to major markets in Asia.
