On March 22, 2025, at the Bac Giang Provincial Sports Stadium, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) opened the Petrolimex Workers and Employees Sports Festival in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region with the presence of nearly 400 athletes from 13 member units in the region.
Petrolimex has chosen the beautiful land of Bac Giang, with a long history and a long-standing cultural tradition, as the fifth place to organize the Sports Festival - Competition in the whole industry to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group. The Sports Festival is also an opportunity for employees in the region to meet, exchange and learn from each other's experiences in physical training, improve sports achievements, strengthen the tradition of solidarity and cooperation between units in the region, promote the building of corporate cultural life, create a competitive atmosphere to strive together to build Petrolimex to develop more and more strongly.
Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of Bac Giang provincial government, there were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Cong Vi; On the side of Petrolimex, there were Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, member of the Board of Directors, General Director Dao Nam Hai; Deputy General Director Nguyen Dinh Duong; Head of the Supervisory Board Dang Quang Tuan; Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union Nguyen Thanh Son; representatives of the Group's Boards; members of the Standing Committee, members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union; members of the Arts - Sports Subcommittee and representatives of the Group's Youth Union; On the side of the coordinating unit to organize the Sports Festival, there were Chairman and Director of Ha Bac Petroleum Company Pham Ngoc Huynh and representatives of the Executive Board, the Trade Union Executive Committee, Leaders of Lang Son Branch, Leaders of Departments/Offices and leaders of units under the Company.
In his opening speech, Chairman and Director of Ha Bac Petroleum Company Pham Ngoc Huynh affirmed that the Sports Festival is an opportunity for employees to practice physical training, maintain the sports movement, and contribute to building the model of Petrolimex employees "Responsible - Knowledgeable - Civilized". This Sports Festival is also an opportunity to motivate units to launch emulation movements to strive to fully complete the production and business targets assigned by the Group in 2025, striving for a minimum growth of 8% and a double-digit growth target.
Representing the Group's leadership in opening the Sports Festival, Deputy General Director Nguyen Dinh Duong acknowledged and highly appreciated the Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union and the Group's Arts and Sports Subcommittee for proactively coordinating with the Sports Festival Organizing Committee and leaders of units in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region to bring a meaningful, useful and healthy playground for Petrolimex workers. Deputy General Director Nguyen Dinh Duong also asked the athletes to promote the spirit of solidarity and dedication to bring the audience valuable cultural and sporting beauty.
Immediately after the opening ceremony ended, more than 400 athletes immediately entered the exciting and intense competitions with 06 diverse competitions including: football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, pickleball, and chess. The champions will be honored at the Closing Ceremony held on the evening of March 22, 2025 at Muong Thanh Grand Bac Giang Hotel.
