Railway Industry and Vietnam Construction Association cooperate to train human resources for the future

On the afternoon of March 19, in Hanoi, the General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation had a working session with the delegation of the Vietnam Construction Association to share experiences in construction and operation of urban railways and high-speed railways.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Dang Sy Manh - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railways Corporation, along with representatives of the office, the Planning and Business Department, and the Construction Investment Management Department. On the side of the Vietnam Construction Association, there were Dr. Dang Viet Dung - Chairman of the Association (head of the delegation); Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Chung - Chairman of the Vietnam Road Transport Construction Investors Association; Dr. Pham Van Khanh - Head of the Economic Department of the Association; MSc. Nguyen Cao Luc - Member of the Presidium; Journalist Hoang Chien Thang - Editor-in-Chief of the Construction People Magazine, along with a number of construction and traffic experts...

At the meeting, the leaders of the two sides briefly introduced the unit's operations in the new context and shared experiences in the construction and operation of urban railways and high-speed railways; "hot" railway issues that the Government is concerned about such as railway standards and regulations, training and improving human resources qualifications, professional guidance, etc.

At the meeting, Chairman Dang Sy Manh said: Vietnam's railway industry is facing development opportunities when many large projects are being promoted for investment such as the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project... This requires a great deal of highly qualified human resources in the fields of railway construction and installation, railway operation... "Currently, the Ministry of Construction is coordinating with the Ministry of Education and the Corporation to work on and develop a project to train human resources for the railway industry", Mr. Dang Sy Manh shared.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Dang Viet Dung said that the information at the meeting will be compiled to report to the Presidium of the General Association, from which appropriate professional coordination will be made to train with Vietnam Railways Corporation in standard practice, improve professional qualifications for workers, thereby contributing to the development of the railway industry, contributing to the economic and social development of the country.

Currently, Vietnam Railway Corporation has a very large workforce, with more than 22 thousand employees. Of which, nearly 10,000 people have university and post-university degrees, the rest are college and intermediate level... all employees are trained.

During the working session, the leaders of Vietnam Railway Corporation and Vietnam Construction Association agreed on the policy of promoting cooperation, jointly organizing training courses on standard practices, and providing guidance to improve professional skills for railway workers.
