According to a recent report from Cimigo, young people (24-44 years old) often choose high-intensity sports. Meanwhile, middle-aged people (45-55 years old) prioritize lighter exercise through walking and yoga. Notably, among those surveyed, 73% of people own smartwatches to monitor their health and physical activity. This figure shows the increasingly important role of technology in personal health care as well as the increasing trend of Vietnamese people investing in self-care.

"The explosion of smartwatches is not simply a trend, but a sign that Vietnamese people are really paying attention and investing seriously in their health," said Mr. Ivan Lai, Director of Garmin Vietnam.

According to Straits Research, smartwatches support measuring maximum oxygen consumption (VO2 max), training load (Training Load) or blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), along with heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), stress index, helping to ensure health safety during high-intensity training. These indicators allow users to monitor their physical condition, adjust the appropriate training intensity, optimize performance and detect early signs of abnormalities, helping them control the training process and improve their health effectively. This motivates technology companies to constantly improve their products to meet user needs. For example, Garmin has developed Garmin Coach - a virtual coach that helps personalize training routes and improve performance.

Not only supporting health monitoring, smartwatches also become companions in modern life. This device helps users manage time, organize work and make smart transactions, bringing optimization to a busy lifestyle.

According to Imarc Group, the smartwatch market in Vietnam is expected to grow 25.2% per year until 2033. According to estimates from ECDB, revenue from online sales channels alone could reach 79.6 million USD in 2025 and continue to grow 9.8% per year from 2025 to 2029. If traditional retail channels are included, this number is even larger, reflecting the increasing demand of Vietnamese consumers.
