Responding to Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene 2023, on May 12, the Ministry of Health organized a program to examine and detect occupational diseases for 161 medical staff of Quang Ninh Lung Hospital and gave gifts to employees with occupational diseases at medical facilities in the province.
Accordingly, the occupational health examination program took place over 1 day, implemented by doctors and technicians at the Institute of Occupational Health and Environment, Ministry of Health, in coordination with CDC Quang Ninh. In the program, doctors and technicians focused on screening and detecting occupational diseases that medical staff are at high risk of contracting during work, such as: hepatitis B; hepatitis C; HIV; tuberculosis; radiation exposure, cataracts, chronic bronchitis; deafness; Benzene poisoning and homologs; Covid-19. Medical staff who are identified as having occupational diseases will have their records created and receive benefits according to the provisions of law.
Also today, representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Central Steering Committee for the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene presented 10 gifts to medical staff suffering from occupational diseases, including 7 cases in difficult circumstances, to share and encourage them to continue to make efforts, overcome difficulties, and successfully complete assigned tasks.
