On the morning of February 21, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to review defense work in central ministries and branches in 2024; and deploy tasks for 2025. Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army chaired the conference. Attending the conference at the Quang Ninh provincial bridge point were comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; also attending were Colonel Khuc Thanh Du, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command and units, departments and branches of the province.
In 2024, agencies, units and localities have proactively overcome difficulties; led and directed the enhancement of the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of national defense. There have been many innovations in the work of education on national defense and security; effectively implemented the political tasks of agencies, units and localities in conjunction with national defense tasks; closely combined socio-economic development with national defense and security and foreign affairs; the actual strength, potential and posture of national defense have been enhanced; the strength to protect the Fatherland has been enhanced, ready to firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, creating a peaceful and stable environment for national development.
The conference determined that in the coming time, it will continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on national defense and security; effectively coordinate strategic advisory work with the Party and the State on national defense and security, and national defense; strengthen the Party's leadership and the State's management of national defense and security; effectively combine socio-economic development with strengthening and consolidating national defense and security, combining national defense and security with foreign affairs; closely implement national defense and security education; focus many resources on building the defense area posture of each locality...
In Quang Ninh province, in 2024, the province focused on directing and operating drastically, with focus and key points to implement the resolutions of the Central Committee, the directions of ministries and branches to strengthen administrative reform, digital transformation; build and implement policies to ensure social security, develop culture; ensure national defense, security and promote foreign affairs; implement the annual working theme on "Improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture, people rich in Quang Ninh identity"; the economy continues to maintain growth momentum.
In 2025, Quang Ninh province determined to focus on leadership and direction to continue to thoroughly implement the Party's viewpoints and guidelines on national defense and military tasks. Strengthen state management of national defense; improve the leadership and management capacity of Party committees and authorities at all levels; and coordinate between provincial and local departments, branches, sectors, and organizations in performing national defense and military tasks.
On this occasion, the Minister of National Defense awarded Certificates of Merit to 24 collectives with outstanding achievements in performing national defense work, including Quang Ninh province.
