Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 1666/QD-TTg to re-appoint General Nguyen Tan Cuong to hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Specifically, in Decision No. 1666/QD-TTg dated December 27, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed to re-appoint General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army to hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense.
The decision takes effect from December 31, 2024.
Previously, on December 31, 2019, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1966/QD-TTg appointing General Nguyen Tan Cuong to hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong was born on February 12, 1966, hometown: Tien Ngoai Commune, Duy Tien Town, Ha Nam Province. General Nguyen Tan Cuong was a member of the Party Central Committee of the 11th (alternate), 12th, and 13th terms.
Since June 2021, he has been a Senior Lieutenant General, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense; and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly (since July 2021).
Mr. Nguyen Tan Cuong was promoted to the rank of General in October 2024.
