Ministry of National Defense inspects preparations for the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange in Lang Son - Lang Son Newspaper

- On March 21, in Lang Son province, a working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense led by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, inspected preparations for the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program in Lang Son.

Border Guard Command leaders speak at the meeting

After the field inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange. At the meeting, delegates discussed and clarified the preparations, and made recommendations for continued attention, direction, and preparation to ensure the best service for the exchange program.

Comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Lang Son province will actively do a good job of preparing, ensuring forces to participate in activities, well organizing people-to-people exchange activities on both sides of the border, festival decoration work, and environmental sanitation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also recommended that the Ministry of National Defense soon provide guidance to the province on the number and composition of participants in exchange activities and the work of organizing the reception of delegates.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, commended and acknowledged the efforts of relevant agencies, units, forces and Lang Son province in preparing for the exchange program.

He emphasized: 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025), so the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program is of great significance to promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two armies as well as the border protection forces of the two countries, local authorities and people in the border areas.

He requested: Relevant agencies and units continue to promote a sense of responsibility, coordinate closely, speed up the preparation work, ensure quality, and follow the set plan; have plans to ensure smooth and convenient traffic during the exchange activities, especially at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate area; pay attention to the etiquette and manners of the participating forces, ensure absolute health, security and safety for people and vehicles participating in the exchange.

As planned, the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange is expected to take place from April 16 to April 17, 2025 in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and Lang Son province (Vietnam).
