“I have participated in the stages of the sewing profession such as sewing buttons and cutting threads since I was 13 years old as a side job. At the age of 19, I officially entered the sewing profession and 10 years ago, I devoted myself to the ao dai, the traditional dress of Vietnamese women,” Ms. Kim Ngan, brand “Ao dai Kim Ngan”, Dinh Van town, Lam Ha confided about her relationship with the graceful ao dai.

Ms. Kim Ngan - a tailor who has been working in the tailoring profession for more than 30 years and has devoted 10 years to the ao dai, shared that she always finds the ao dai to be an extremely wonderful outfit for Vietnamese women. All the elegance and grace of women are expressed in the ao dai with gentle features. And, she is also a child of the new land of Lam Ha, associated with beautifying the women in her homeland. "I always cherish the idea of ​​creating ao dai with the strong imprint of Lam Ha homeland. My homeland is very beautiful, with green mountains, long rivers, and beautiful natural scenery", said tailor Kim Ngan. And then, the idea of ​​combining natural scenery into the ao dai was born. Initially, Ms. Ngan registered an OCOP product with traditional silk material. She said that Lam Ha silk is also a famous product of the people of her homeland. And, with her passion for creativity, she personally designed the model and printed images of Lam Ha landscape on the ao dai. Images such as lush green tea hills, majestic waterfalls, or brilliant flower fields are all delicately recreated in every stitch. Looking at the ao dai, viewers can see the typical landscapes of the highlands, blending with the beauty of women.

“I personally choose each piece of fabric, draw the perspective, print and embroider, then sew the ao dai to keep the shape of the ao dai as well as match the scene and motifs on the silk. When sewn, the printed and embroidered landscapes must still retain their original lines, while still being soft according to the body shape. Many steps must be done by hand to maintain the softness of the ao dai, such as the stages of weaving the ao dai…”, Ms. Kim Ngan confided about the dedication she put into the ao dai with the style of her homeland.

The "Phong Canh Lam Ha" Ao Dai collection not only brings the beauty of nature, but also preserves the traditional features of Vietnamese Ao Dai. Ms. Ngan still uses familiar materials such as soft Bao Loc silk, or Dam Pao brocade along with materials that are easy to sew, easy to wear, and flatter the figure of Vietnamese women and Lam Ha homeland. In particular, Dam Pao brocade, brocade of K'Ho village, woven by the hands of K'Ho women, has brought a very unique look to the Ao Dai.
