On June 13, the Internal Political Security Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police issued a decision to administratively sanction LQC (residing in Vu Quang district) and NHT (residing in Ha Tinh city) for providing and sharing fabricated information about the incident that occurred in Dak Lak.

Specifically, on June 11 and 12, LQC and NHT used their personal Facebook accounts to post and comment with distorted and fabricated content about the attack on the People's Committee headquarters in Dak Lak.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities invited C. and T. to come in for questioning. At the police station, LQC and NHT admitted their wrongdoings.
For the act of “Providing and sharing fabricated information, causing confusion among the people…”, the Internal Political Security Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police has decided to fine LQC and NHT each 7.5 million VND.
Ha Tinh Provincial Police recommend that social network users absolutely do not post, comment, or share unverified, false, fabricated, or distorted information.
Providing false information on social networks that causes public confusion will be handled according to the law; if it causes serious impacts or consequences, it may be subject to criminal prosecution.
Similarly, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Khanh Hoa Province Police also fined T. (33 years old, residing in Nha Trang) VND 7.5 million for using his personal Facebook to make baseless and untrue comments about the attack on the commune police headquarters in Dak Lak Province.
At the police station, T. admitted his actions. The authorities asked him to remove the offending content and promise not to repeat the offense.
On the same day, the Internal Political Security Department, Quang Nam Provincial Police, administratively sanctioned Mr. TR (38 years old, residing in Hoi An City, Quang Nam) for providing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of organizations and the honor and dignity of individuals.
Accordingly, on June 11, Mr. R. viewed the news on the "Government Information" page, which posted an article with the content "Arresting a group of people who used guns to attack the commune police headquarters in Dak Lak".
Then, Mr. R. used his personal Facebook to share the above article with comments that were untrue, distorted, slanderous, and insulting to the reputation of the organization in a public sharing status.
Through work, Mr. R. admitted his wrongdoing.
The authorities have decided to impose an administrative fine of VND 5.5 million on Mr. R.
