The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just sent a document to the Ministry of Transport reporting on the air transport situation during the National Day holiday on September 2, a 4-day holiday from August 31 to September 3.
Accordingly, during the National Day holiday of September 2, the total air passenger transport market reached more than 763 thousand passengers (equal to 98% compared to the same period in 2023).
Of which, international passenger transport reached more than 406.5 thousand passengers (up 14.5% over the same period in 2023); domestic passenger transport reached more than 356.5 thousand passengers (down 15.6% over the same period in 2023).
Freight transport reached about 13 thousand tons (up 11.0% over the same period in 2023), of which international freight transport reached more than 10.9 thousand tons (up 10.4% over the same period in 2023); domestic freight transport reached more than 2.1 thousand tons (up 14.0% over the same period in 2023).
Passenger and cargo throughput at Vietnamese airports will reach 7,000 landings/takeoffs (down 13.4% year-on-year in 2023); more than 1.1 million passengers (down 6.7% year-on-year in 2023); and cargo throughput will reach more than 15,000 tons (up 11.4% year-on-year in 2023).
Of which, the throughput at Tan Son Nhat airport reached more than 2,500 take-offs and landings, approximately 407,000 passengers and approximately 5,300 tons of cargo (down 9.3% in take-offs and landings and down 7.4% in passengers but up 3.2% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023).
Throughput at Noi Bai airport reached approximately 2,000 take-offs and landings, 314,000 passengers and more than 8.7 thousand tons of cargo (down 8.3% in take-offs and landings and down 1.1% in passengers but up 16.8% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023).
Da Nang airport's output reached more than 900 takeoffs and landings, more than 111,000 passengers and more than 333 tons of cargo (down 2.9% in takeoffs and landings and down 13.3% in passengers but up 80% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023).
Of which, the total transport volume of Vietnamese airlines reached more than 531 thousand passengers (down 12% compared to the same period in 2023) and more than 4.3 thousand tons of cargo (up 17.8% compared to the same period in 2023). Of which, international transport reached more than 174 thousand passengers and more than 2.2 thousand tons of cargo, down 3.7% in passengers but up 21.4% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023. Domestic transport reached 356.5 thousand passengers and more than 2 thousand tons of cargo, down 15.6% in passengers but up 14% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023.
During the National Day holiday, Vietnamese airlines operated more than 2,700 flights (an average of nearly 700 flights/day).
The Civil Aviation Authority assessed that during the National Day holiday, security, safety, and service quality were maintained and guaranteed. Issues arising at the airport were handled according to authority; no incidents affecting operations arose.
