The entire shipment of frozen chicken feet packed in more than 300 cardboard boxes with a weight of nearly 3.3 tons was smuggled by the subjects to be transported to the province for consumption.
According to information from the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department (Lao Cai Provincial Police), at 5:00 p.m. on June 6, at the sidewalk area (opposite plot 30), National Highway 70, in Lao Cai Ward (Lao Cai City), officers from Team 3, Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department coordinated with the Customs Control Team (Lao Cai Customs Department) to discover Vo Van Toan (born in 1991, residing in Group 29, Lao Cai Ward) gathering a shipment of 327 cardboard boxes containing frozen chicken feet with a total weight of 3,270 kg. The outside of the boxes were printed in foreign languages, without additional labels written in Vietnamese.
When requested by the authorities, the owner of the goods, Vu Van Toan, could not present documents proving the origin of the shipment.
According to Vo Van Toan's initial statement, the above goods were frozen chicken feet of unknown origin, purchased to be brought into the country for consumption.
Immediately after seizing the shipment, the Environmental Crime Prevention Police (Provincial Police) made a record of temporary detention for investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
