According to the plan, the museum will be open free of charge until the end of December this year. After that, the Vietnam Military History Museum will sell entrance tickets like some other museums in Hanoi.
However, the museum has not yet officially started selling tickets. According to a representative of the Vietnam Military History Museum, the museum is still discussing a fee collection plan, including reasonable fees and collection times. The official fee will be announced as soon as possible.
Details on admission prices will be announced in the near future. Previously, the Vietnam Military History Museum at its old location charged VND10,000-20,000 per visit for Vietnamese citizens, and VND40,000 per visit for foreign visitors.
The Vietnam Military History Museum was newly built in 2019 in Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi, on an area of 386,600 m². This project has a modern design, with a total investment of about 2,500 billion VND.
Officially opened in early November 2024, the Vietnam Museum of History attracted attention when welcoming tens of thousands of people and tourists every day. In particular, on Sundays, the museum recorded about 60,000 visitors, a record number of visitors in a day at museums in Vietnam.
Currently, the museum is preserving more than 150,000 artifacts, including 4 national treasures. In addition, the museum also displays many weapons and military equipment from the resistance wars, such as 85mm cannons, PT67 tanks, MiG-17 aircraft, and artifacts used by the French and American armies during the war in Vietnam.
The museum is designed in a modern style, creating an interactive space and experience about the history of building and defending the country, and the struggles for national independence of the Vietnamese people.
In addition, the Vietnam Museum of History also includes many beautiful photo angles for visitors to check-in and explore.
