Kinhtedothi-On January 11, Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City Bui Thi Minh Hoai and Party Central Committee member, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang attended "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang" organized by the Hanoi City Labor Confederation.
Attending the "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of gratitude to the Party" were Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Pham Qui Tien; Deputy Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Vu Ha; leaders of departments, branches and over 800 union members and workers representing more than 2.7 million union members and workers in the city.
Spread the spirit of mutual love and support
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh said: Tet Sum Vay is an annual activity organized by the Capital Labor Union on the occasion of Tet holiday; demonstrating the concern and sharing of all levels, sectors, labor unions and the whole society for the team of workers and civil servants.
Thereby, multiplying the good tradition, the spirit of mutual love and affection of the nation; encouraging and motivating the team of employees to overcome difficulties and challenges, enthusiastically competing in labor production; contributing to the socio-economic development and production and business of each enterprise.
According to Chairman of the Hanoi Confederation of Labor Pham Quang Thanh, in 2024, the capital city of Hanoi will face many difficulties and challenges, seriously affecting the lives of people, employees and production and business of enterprises.
Faced with such difficulties, the Capital Trade Union, with its functions and tasks, always stands side by side with union members and workers, accompanying businesses to overcome difficulties and challenges with the motto "Trade Union accompanies for the sustainable development of businesses, for the lives and jobs of workers".
With a sense of responsibility, businesses still ensure good policies and welfare for employees, such as: Salary, bonus; Lunar New Year bonus At Ty 2025 increases from 2.86% to 12.5% compared to Lunar New Year Giap Thin 2024.
In particular, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, in order to take care of and practically support the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; with the motto of not letting any union member or worker go without Tet, the Hanoi City Labor Federation has focused resources to take care of and support workers in difficulty, with a total amount of more than 42 billion VND. From there, it creates peace of mind, encourages and motivates union members and workers to stick with the enterprise, stick with the Trade Union organization, work with higher productivity and higher quality.
At the "Tet Sum Vay" program 2025, the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee also supported and gave 30,000 gifts to 30,000 workers, civil servants and laborers in difficult circumstances in the city with a total amount of 15 billion VND.
The City Labor Federation decided to support 33 Trade Union Shelters (the value of each newly built Trade Union Shelter is 40 million VND, the value of each repaired Trade Union Shelter is 30 million VND) for 33 families of workers in difficult circumstances to improve their lives and accommodation in 2025.
The leaders of the City Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also spent time and attention to visit, give gifts, and encourage workers; and participated in the opening of the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market.
This year's "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" program took place in a lively and exciting atmosphere with many meaningful contents for employees. In addition to the ceremony part of the program, union members and employees participated in the following contents: Banh Chung wrapping contest, Tet fruit display and lucky draw.
Moved when receiving the Special Prize in the lucky draw, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (Ominsu Vietnam Co., Ltd., Cau Giay District Labor Federation) said: "I was overwhelmed with emotion when my name was announced as the lucky winner of the Special Prize - a Yamaha motorbike, worth more than 22 million VND. I was really surprised and happy to win the biggest prize at the program".
"I hope that the Hanoi City Trade Union at all levels will continue to organize many meaningful and practical programs so that I and many union members and workers will benefit from the program," Ms. Hien added.
Care for workers' welfare
Speaking at the "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" event, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang expressed his joy to know that this year, more than 103,000 union members and workers will be directly supported and cared for by the City Labor Federation and the grassroots trade unions with a total estimated amount of nearly 70 billion VND (equivalent to 12% of the total number of workers and civil servants, an increase of 2% compared to 2024).
On this occasion, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor would like to express his sincere thanks to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, National Assembly Delegation, agencies, departments, branches, unions, Party committees, local authorities, and units in Hanoi for their attention, leadership, direction, coordination, and effective support for the activities of the Capital's Trade Union and for always paying attention and supporting the Trade Union organization at important political forums.
Emphasizing the important significance of 2025, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that the Capital Trade Union continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, effectively organize the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congress, the Trade Union Congresses at all levels and focus on performing well the four key tasks. In particular, the Trade Union needs to actively and proactively participate in the work of innovating and rearranging the organizational apparatus of the political system according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee; better perform the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, workers, civil servants, etc.
In addition, the Capital Trade Union effectively organized patriotic emulation movements among workers, contributing to the completion of the targets and tasks of the 2025 socio-economic development plan, the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress and the 13th Party Congress; effectively implemented projects, programs and plans of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the City Labor Federation on focusing resources to care for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation.
In the immediate future, the Capital Trade Union will improve the quality of activities to take care of the material and spiritual needs of union members and employees; organize well activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 for employees, ensuring that all union members and employees have a happy Tet.
