The Central Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses holds its third meeting

Dien Bien TV - On the afternoon of March 10, the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide held its third national online meeting. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting at the Government Headquarters were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; representatives of relevant ministries, branches and agencies. Comrade Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting at the Dien Bien provincial bridge. Also attending were Comrade Giang Thi Hoa, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and representatives of a number of provincial departments, branches and agencies.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: At the second meeting, the Steering Committee agreed on the implementation direction for 2025 and assigned specific tasks to members, ministries, agencies and localities. Immediately after the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee and the ministries completed the guiding documents; the Government issued a Resolution on the plan to allocate and use the 5% savings in regular expenditure to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. From March 1, 2025, the political system will operate under the new apparatus and the newly established agencies will immediately get to work, without any delay.

Accordingly, by the end of March 6, 2025, the whole country has supported the elimination of over 121,600 temporary and dilapidated houses. Of which, more than 65,000 houses have been inaugurated; more than 56,000 new houses have been started. From now until December 31, 2025, the whole country needs to complete more than 101,000 houses. Of which, about 70,000 houses are under the Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program.

At this 3rd Session, delegates focused on evaluating the results, difficulties, and lessons learned in directing, operating, allocating, and mobilizing resources to implement the Program. At the same time, they proposed good practices, good examples, and proposed tasks and solutions to implement the Program more effectively.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches and localities to make great efforts, have great determination, take drastic and effective actions; assign tasks in the spirit of 5 clear: clear people, clear work, clear results, clear progress, clear responsibilities and only discuss action, not backtracking; focus on reviewing and making a list of commendations and rewards for individuals and units with outstanding achievements in implementing the Program; find and point out collectives and individuals who have not completed or have not paid attention to implementation to have a form of criticism and review according to regulations... For localities that have not reported the results of the review and approval of the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, it is necessary to complete the work before March 15 to have a basis for organizing and implementing support...

Immediately after the end of the online meeting, Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, agreed on a number of contents with representatives of the leaders of relevant agencies and units. He stated: The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province has issued a document on the allocation of funds received from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, therefore, the districts need to closely follow the tasks, plans, and registrations of the districts to immediately implement according to the tasks and plans of the Provincial Steering Committee. Accordingly, by April 30, the province must complete 1,000 houses out of a total of more than 5,400 houses. For the Provincial Standing Agency, it is still assigned to the Department of Construction to implement when there is a change in functions and tasks, the province will have specific instructions./.
