On the morning of July 17, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee 35 held a conference to review the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, combating and refuting erroneous and hostile views in the first 6 months of the year, and deploying tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.
Comrade Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 attended and directed the Conference.
Attending and chairing the Conference were Politburo members: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35.
The conference was also attended by Party Central Committee members, members of the Central Steering Committee 35 and members of the secretariat, assistants and experts of the Central Steering Committee 35.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, said that in the first 6 months of 2024, the world, regional and domestic situation had opportunities and advantages, along with many difficulties, challenges and complications arising.
Traditional and non-traditional security issues are increasingly having strong and multi-faceted impacts, posing serious threats to the stability and sustainability of the world, the region and our country.
In that context, the Central Steering Committee 35 has closely followed the direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat and practical requirements to lead, direct, operate, and guide the organization to systematically, resolutely, urgently, and comprehensively implement the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints and achieving many important results. In addition, there are still some limitations and difficulties due to objective and subjective causes.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia asked delegates to contribute their opinions to complete the draft Report on the results of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the first 6 months of the year, implementing key tasks in the last 6 months of 2024; focusing on discussing and analyzing in depth new, creative and effective ways of doing things; remaining limitations and problems and proposing solutions to overcome them in the coming time.
At the conference, delegates evaluated the outstanding results in performing the assigned tasks in the Decision on assigning tasks to members of the Central Steering Committee 35; the work plan for 2024; and announced the conclusion of the Leaders of the Central Steering Committee 35 at the Conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo.
Regarding research, education, training and propaganda of political theory, delegates focused on research results, supplementing theoretical foundations on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam; summarizing 40 years of national renovation; researching and building scientific arguments to serve the work of fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints; incorporating the content of protecting the Party's ideological foundation into textbooks, training materials, fostering and updating political theory knowledge for cadres and party members; progress and initial results of the fourth Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2024.
Along with that, the delegates evaluated the results of information and propaganda work on the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; the results of the 9th Central Conference of the 13th tenure; the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly; the achievements in economic, cultural, social, national defense, security and foreign affairs development of the country; the articles, speeches and books of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; and the preparation work for the 14th National Congress of the Party.

After listening to the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of the delegates and giving instructions at the Conference, Comrade Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, outlined a number of key orientations for Party committees, Party organizations, and Steering Committees 35 at all levels to implement in the coming time.
Specifically, continue to lead and direct the improvement of the effectiveness of the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo; strengthen guidance, monitoring, urging and supervising Party committees and Party organizations at all levels to seriously and resolutely implement Regulation No. 85-QD/TW of the Secretariat "On cadres and Party members establishing and using personal electronic information pages on the Internet and social networks;" research and propose measures to improve the effectiveness of detection, forecasting and warning work.
At the same time, continue to review and evaluate shortcomings and limitations in legal regulations for amendment and supplementation; review and evaluate the research, teaching and learning of political theory subjects in training and fostering programs; improve the quality of information and propaganda content on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; be proactive in exchanging and providing information.
The Standing Secretariat believes that with the sense of responsibility of Party committees and organizations at all levels, and the capacity and intelligence of participating forces, the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints will achieve even better results, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, creating a solid foundation for the successful organization of Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
