Vietnam University Rankings 2025 (VNUR-2025, Viet Nam's University Rankings) has just been announced with the biggest surprise when there is a new face in the top 10.
VNUR (Vietnam's University Rankings) has just announced the 2025 Vietnamese university rankings. The top 10 has slightly changed in some positions and has the presence of a new face.
According to the rankings, Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University continue to hold positions 1 and 2.
Ton Duc Thang University dropped to 5th place, leaving 3rd place for Hanoi University of Science and Technology. University of Commerce also dropped out of the top 10, down to 12th place.
Most notable in this year’s top 10 is the appearance of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH). This school made a spectacular leap when it entered the top 10 for the first time in 7th place, up 25 places compared to last year (from 32nd place).
There are 10 higher education institutions not in the top 100 VNUR-2024 joining the top of VNUR-2025 for the first time. In this group, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports has the biggest increase in rank with 118 places, to rank 57.
In the top 10, there are 9 public universities and only one private university, Duy Tan University, ranked 5th.
In the top 100, there are a total of 40 higher education institutions in the TOP 100 VNUR-2024 that increased in rank this year.
The ranking increase ranges from 1 to 30. In this group, the university with the highest ranking increase is Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy with an increase of 30 places, from 85th in 2024 to 55th in 2025.

VNUR conducts university rankings through collecting and processing data according to 6 criteria, including 18 important calibrated indicators. The 6 ranking criteria include recognized quality, teaching, scientific publication, scientific and technological tasks and inventions, student quality, and facilities.
