The post also reflects on the fact that too many extracurricular activities are tiring for students. Most of the activities are choreographed at an expensive cost.

Close the camp fund of 5 million VND?

Accordingly, the post reads: "The school organizes too many programs that cost us students a lot of time and effort. It turns entertainment into a costly and tiring thing.

Every program has to hire a choreographer (6-8 million), there are choreographers who cover nearly 10 classes. I wonder if the school's Youth Union Committee is impartial with the choreographers?!

Now it's time to go to camp. There are many mandatory performances (all of which require a choreographer), which turns the camp into a period of torture, not a time to relax and have fun after stressful hours of studying. Each student pays more than 5 million VND to cover everything, too much for one camp."

This information quickly attracted public attention, with many conflicting opinions. The majority believed that if it was true as this student reflected, the cost of the camp and extracurricular activities each year of 5 million VND/student is too high.

The school speaks out

Because the post mentioned the abbreviation "PCT", many people speculated that this was Phan Chau Trinh High School (Da Nang). Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online reporter, Ms. Doan Thi Hanh - vice principal of the school - said that the school had received the feedback and was reviewing it.

Ms. Hanh said that the school regularly organizes cultural, artistic and sports activities and always receives positive responses from students and parents.

"The school knows that some classes hire choreographers and borrow the school yard to practice on holidays or breaks. However, this is a private agreement between the class, teachers and parents, without any direction or intervention from the school. The school's Youth Union is not affiliated with the choreographer, nor does it require classes to hire choreographers or invest in these activities," Ms. Hanh affirmed.

Regarding the camp fund of 5 million VND/student, Ms. Hanh said the school has not yet verified this figure. However, according to regulations, the class fund collection must be agreed upon between the homeroom teacher and the parents.

"The school does not collect this fund. We always ask homeroom teachers to coordinate with parents to agree on the contribution level, depending on actual conditions and consensus. At the same time, the school always reminds teachers to care for and support students in difficult circumstances," said Ms. Hanh.

Regarding the reflection of too many extracurricular activities, Ms. Hanh said that grades 10 and 12 still maintain normal activities. Grade 11 only has one major activity: camping.

"Maybe some students have not arranged their time properly and feel overloaded. The school will take into account parents' opinions and make adjustments if necessary," Ms. Hanh added.
