(NLDO) - From April 1, Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh will be the Principal of the Gifted High School, replacing Professor Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai.

On March 19, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University Vu Hai Quan signed a decision to appoint Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh - Head of the Department of External Relations and Project Development, to hold the position of Principal of the Gifted High School.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan said that from April 1, 2025, Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh will officially assume the role of Principal of the Gifted High School and will devote herself to the new role, not concurrently like previous principals.
Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh's predecessor, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, is currently Vice President of VNU-HCM. She was appointed Principal of the Gifted High School in January 2022 while she was Vice President of the University of Natural Sciences.
Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh (born in 1977, from Ben Tre) has more than 20 years of experience in the field of education and university education management. She has been the Head of the Department of External Relations and Project Development since 2022.
Previously, Ms. Hanh was Deputy Director and then Director of the International Training Institute in the period 2019-2022, Head of the Department of External Relations at the International University from 2014-2019.
VNU-HCM said that with extensive experience in building international cooperation relationships, developing and managing educational and research cooperation projects, Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh has made many contributions to promoting VNU-HCM's cooperation with domestic and foreign partners.
According to information from the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh studied at leading universities in Australia and Singapore. She received a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of New South Wales (Australia), a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from the National University of Singapore and a PhD in Biology from Griffith University (Australia) under scholarship programs from the Australian Government and the National University of Singapore. With deep expertise in the field of Biotechnology, she has been teaching and researching at the University of Natural Sciences and the International University for many years.
Dr. Bui Thi Hong Hanh is expected to continue promoting the tradition and strengths of the Gifted High School in developing a pioneering educational environment, nurturing and fostering talent.
