9 outstanding events in the work of the Youth Union and youth movement in 2024

1. The 7th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) of Long An province, term 2024-2029: Affirming the role of leading the youth

The Congress consulted and elected 41 comrades to the Provincial Youth Union Committee, in which comrade Le Thi Hong Ket - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union was elected to hold the position of President of the Provincial Youth Union. The event marked an important turning point, affirming the role of the Union in gathering, uniting and promoting the youth of Long An .

2. Honoring 9 Outstanding Young Citizens of Long An Province in 2024: Spreading positive values

9 outstanding young faces in various fields were honored by the Provincial People's Committee, showing recognition for their contributions to the community. Each individual is an inspirational story, spreading the spirit of dedication and aspirations of the youth. This is the third time that the Provincial Youth Union has coordinated with the departments to advise the Provincial People's Committee to successfully organize the campaign to vote for Outstanding Young Citizens of Long An province.

3. More than 3,500 volunteer projects and works worth 20 billion VND: A strong mark of volunteer spirit

Long An Youth Union has carried out more than 3,500 volunteer projects and tasks, with a total value of more than 20 billion VND in peak volunteer campaigns . Notable among them are 15 provincial-level model youth routes, 63 district-level projects and 188 grassroots-level projects and tasks; repaired and renovated 30 rural traffic bridges; and donated 30 houses to disadvantaged youth. These impressive numbers are a testament to the spirit of volunteering for community life of Long An Youth Union.

4. Education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle in cyberspace: Value orientation for the young generation

The Provincial Youth Union has implemented many practical activities such as the Infographic Design Contest to promote the protection of the Party's ideological foundation (attracting thousands of participants), training conferences and drills on the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, and the launch of the Long An Youth History Digital Information Page (with thousands of visits). In particular, the Provincial Youth Union has advised on the implementation of 4 positive activities and trends on social networks, attracting more than 16,000 union members and young people to respond.

5. Dialogue between the Provincial People's Committee leaders and the youth: Listening and understanding

The dialogue program with the theme of Mechanisms and policies to help young people fully develop their participation in building and developing the socio-economy is an opportunity for young people to express their thoughts, aspirations, and propose solutions to promote high-quality young human resources and support innovative startups. Many enthusiastic opinions and recommendations were listened to and noted by the provincial leaders, demonstrating deep concern for the young generation.

6. Long An successfully hosted major programs of the Central Youth Union and Central Association: Enhancing position and prestige

Long An Provincial Youth Union successfully hosted the 2024 Conference on Youth Union and Youth Movement in the Tien River Delta Cluster with the participation of leaders of the Central Youth Union and provinces and cities. Next, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province hosted the program "Lighting up the dream of rehabilitation" at Long Hoa Prison, presenting 50 gifts, 500 books and many other gifts and scholarships to prisoners and their children. These events not only contributed to improving the quality of Youth Union - Association work but also affirmed the position and prestige of Long An youth in the region.

7. The 10th Congress of Uncle Ho's Good Children of Long An Province: Honoring the beautiful flowers

300 outstanding team members were commended and rewarded at the Congress, demonstrating the concern of the Youth Union - Young Pioneers for the education and training of the young generation.

8. Mock meeting of Long An Provincial Children's Council in 2024: Useful forum for children

For the first time, 60 “Children’s Council delegates” representing nearly 103,000 secondary school students participated in the Mock Session of the Children’s Council of Long An province , discussing the issues of “Prevention and control of school violence and child abuse” and “Life skills education activities for students”. The event is a useful forum, helping children improve their awareness and skills to participate in social activities.

9. Drops of Love Program: Sharing love, overcoming difficulties

The Provincial Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of the province promptly supported more than 1,000 water tanks and more than 2,000m3 of clean water for people affected by drought and salinity, demonstrating the spirit of "mutual love and support" and sharing difficulties with the community.
